A/N: I hope you know that I love you. Even if all you care about is Mystogan.

The surprise on Laxus's face only lasted a moment. He blinked at his old friend and then shook his head. "You are one selfish bastard." He knew. Knew that if he was there and not with you that meant he had not told you of his return. The fact that he was even back in the first place was a shock in itself. It was suppose to be impossible.

"I am aware of that." Mystogan sighed, reaching up to rub at his face, hands combing through his hair. "I can't just show up. It has been 7 years..."

"She doesn't care. It does not change how she feels. It does not change that Jeria needs her father and feels left out. And it certainly does not change the fact that you chose a country over your pregnant fiancee. She may forgive you, but the rest of us..." Laxus flexed his fist. "Are itching to beat you."

He was aware of that as well. The fact that you would forgive him in a heartbeat was unforgivable. He made a choice and you begged him not to go. And he went anyways. Would he say he regretted his decision? After seeing you cry yourself to sleep while holding his and your daughter in your arms.... why was he ever so stupid?

"I cannot apologize enough to her. But I cannot tell her I am back yet. Not until I find out how I got back." He stated.

"You're saying you didn't choose to come back?" The tone of the lightning dragon slayers voice began to rise. "That you did not try to come back for her at all?" A low growl formed in his throat, fists sparking with electricity.

"That is not exactly what I am saying. Do not get heated for such a reason. I did not think there was a way until Jeria showed up in Edolas. After she did I was thinking about it. And I woke up here. I need to know if I will be inevitably drug back to Edolas or if I am here for good before I let Y/n know I am back. I cannot leave her a second time... she is hurting far worse than I had ever imagined."

Laxus scoffed, lightning slowly disappearing. "Of course she was you dumbass. She loves you. And then she forgot because she was tortured. And just as she started to get over that fear when she finally remembered, you leave her with a child to raise on her own. Y/n has a soft heart. She was always insecure and just as she started gaining confidence you left. So, yeah, she is really messed up."

Every sentence left one invisible slap after another. He was right, after all. And he knew it was selfish to leave. Because he knew she was pregnant. Laxus had told him as much. But his lifelong mission...

So what? Was it worth it? Are you happy to know that you missed out on 7 years of your daughter's life, that you hurt Y/n so badly that she cries herself to sleep?

His jaw tightened and he looked at the guy he use to ignore all the time because of his ego. When had they grown close? He was unsure, but he simply nodded. "I know... you are not wrong. I do not know how to fix it."

"Just go to her dammit." Laxus slammed a fist down on the table next to him. "Your name is practically forbidden at the guild because it makes her cry. Jeria stopped asking questions about you because she figured out how much it hurt her to talk about you. Stop being a selfish bastard."

It was not that easy.

Jeria grew up without him. You were doing wonderful with her. But if he showed up and Jeria began to get attached to him... and then he got drug back to Edolas...

"Well, whatever." It seemed as though the conversation was over. "Everyone will be here soon. So if you don't want them to know I would suggest hiding."

"Too late for that." The voice belonged to the very angry Titania. "How long have you been back? Does Y/n know? Unlikely considering you did not want anyone to know of your return. Mystogan. Stop running from your fears." Erza was blocking the only exit from the guildhall.  Both hands were crossed over her chest, expression telling of a story of the inevitable scolding.

"Erza... I forgot how alike you and Knightwalker are.." He laughed a bit, recalling the conversation with the fierce warrior in Edolas. "I know I need to see her... this has not been easy for me either, you know."

"I am aware. You love her as she does you. But Jeria deserves to have her father in her life so long as he is alive." She spoke with authority, arms dropping to her sides. "Mystogan... I think it would be best if you just go to her. You are back for a reason. Be with your family. It has been far too long."

He wanted to point out that Erza did not look any older than when he last saw her, but in 7 years he knew a lot could have happened.

Not wishing to argue with her, he nodded his head. Now was not the time to meet you, though. There were other things he needed to confirm. His magic was back, strangely enough, but that was to be expected on Earthland. He was not use to such luxury anymore.

"Mystogan..." Your voice sent chills down his spine. He slowly turned around to face you, heart beating erratically in his chest it had been so long since he heard your voice. Slowly, you began to approach him. Jeria had left to find her friends as soon as she went in the familiar building. "Is...." You swallowed and rubbed your eyes.

"Are you real?" You hesitated in your step, afraid it was another of the many illusions you'd had of him. It was impossible for him to be back, you knew this. Tears formed in your eyes, stopping your steps. "Stop seeing things, Y/n, you stupid." You smacked your cheeks. "He isn't coming back, idiot." Your voice broke, releasing more tears, body trembling as you tried to hold back the sobs.

"Y/n...." He sighed, hating seeing you like this. The sound of his steps brought him closer to you than he had been in a while. Swallowing, Mystogan slowly reached out to pull you into his arms. "Don't cry anymore, you beautiful girl. Don't call yourself stupid, because you are so much more than that." His voice quivered.

"Mommy!" Jeria came running in your direction. "Mommy Haru-" She paused. "Why is Mommy and Daddy crying?" The small girl padded up to them and grabbed on Mystogan's sleeve, tugging on it. "Daddy!"

Mystogan glanced down and smiled at Jeria. "Hello, little Jeria. I am home." He swallowed, heart clenching.

You were squeezing onto him tightly, not wanting the illusion to ever stop. But somewhere you knew it was not some sick joke. His arms were warm. His voice was so clear in your ear. It had been so long since you heard him speak. You pulled back, shaking. Looking up, scared of what you may see, your eyes met his. He was already looking at you.

Your breath caught in your throat. He looked even more breathtaking now. Time had treated him well, but you couldn't help but reach up to trace the half of his tattoo that Jeria did not have on her face. "Mystogan..." You let out a breath of air and swallowed. Grabbing onto his face you leaned forward and smashed the distance between the two of you into nothingness. Your lips met his aggressively but he did not move to stop you.

Both of his arms snaked around your waist and squeezed you tightly to his body, crushing you against him. His lips were smashed against yours, the pressure almost painful. But nothing could be worse than the long years without him. Your hands could not stay still. Even with your eyes closed you felt his facial features, hands sliding into his hair and grabbing fistfuls.

"Ewwwww! Mommy and Daddy are kissing!" Jeria squealed, breaking off the kiss. You looked over to her, breathless from the force of the kiss, knowing your lips would be slightly bruised later. Despite the young girl's exclamation, you saw her smiling and returned it.

"Daddy... are you staying this time?" Jeria asked, looking at him, a bit fearful.

"Honestly... I am not sure. I have to figure out how I got here in the first place..." he admitted softly. "But I am not going to leave you again if I can help it."

Your cheeks were starting to hurt from smiling so widely. The sadness that had plagued your heart was purified by his presence, and replaced with overwhelming joy. However, you knew how strange his return was. Edolas lost their magic... how could he have come back?

"Do not worry about it, Y/n. I will find the source. You need to focus on taking care of yourself. You are calling yourself terrible names again." He frowned and you glanced down, cheeks pink. "And we have a wedding to plan, do we not?" He smiled.

Your eyes widened as you looked up, surprised. He still thought about something like that? You had long given up the idea of any kind of wedding or ceremony. If it was not Mystogan, you did not want it. You had poured your heart and soul into caring for Jeria all these years.

"Yeah, we do." You smiled, tears forming in the corners of your eyes.
