The Dauntless Fire (OC/Eric)

Chapter 3

Today we learn how to fight, I'm waiting for Four to come and wake us up, I'm so excited. I've always wanted to learn to fight. I have to say when I was in Erudite I always dreamed of what dauntless would be like, I never felt like I belonged there. When I did my test and got dauntless I was so happy, but also sad that I had to leave my family.

I hear it, it's Four he is waking us up, YES!!!!.

Fighting time.

YES!!.

So excited!!!

I jump up out of bed and forget about waiting for Aiden and Isabelle, I get changed and literally run out of the accommodation. I run up to our table and sit down and everyone is here except Isabelle and Aiden, whoops, I eat my toast, but the egg is on top of the toast, it tastes weird but actually yum. Zeke says "are you in a rush or something", I lie "no". I grab another piece of toast and egg and eat it quite quickly.

I start to walk to the training room and I get there and Eric is standing there and he says "your early". I reply "yeah, I'm excited to fight", he says "I've never seen someone excited for fighting, they are usually scared",

I reply "well that's not one of my fears and I know that", he says "and how do you know that", I reply "because if I was scared I wouldn't be here early". He says "fair enough, its better early then late", I nod. He then says "since you're here help me set up", I nod again.

Everyone is in the training room now. We are waiting for Eric and Four to start.

Four states "ok everyone, today we are learning to fight, but first here is the leader board-". Eric cuts him off "this board if your life, if you are under the line, you are cut by the end of the physical training".

Aiden questions "cut?".

"cut, as in joining factionless" Eric says with an angry look on his face. He looks like he can just melt your soul with one quick glance. I see his eyes move to me and he stares, I feel unconfutable, but also safe. Eric moves away from in front of the board and I'm, I'm second and Aiden is first. Wow. I'm awesome and so is Aiden because he is first. Isabelle is fifth, Aiden and I can help her.

Aiden gives me a big hug. But I give him a bigger hug. "second" he says with a smile on his face

"not as good as first" I smile too.

Isabelle comes running up to us and she give is the hugest hug ever. She smiles. We all smile.

Eric yells "alright enough of the happiness, we have to start training". I smile even harder now that we are training to fight.

I stand at an orange punching bag, im punching it hard. I look at my knuckles and there are little sore on them, I shake it off and start punching the bag again.

I feel a hand touch my shoulder and I turn around to see Octavia standing in front of me. She grabs my hand. She pulls me into a dark hallway with only one dim light.

"what do you want?" I question.

She looks at me, then says "don't trust Eric, no matter what happens...don't trust him".

I look at her in confusion "why, why shouldn't I trust him"

She puts her hands on my shoulders and looks around "you don't need to know why, you just have to trust me. Ok"

"ok". I pause "but-"

"I have to go, now get back to training" she runs off.

I walk back slowly to the punching bag thinking about what Octavia said. Should I trust her? Should I trust Eric? This is too much for me to handle.

I start to punch to bag again, but with less power. Then I feel hands on my shoulder pulling me around. What does she want now. I turn and look up but its not Octavia, it's Eric. What do I do?

"where did you go?" he says with a stern voice.

What do I say?

"I asked you a question"

"to the bathroom" I reply

"then who was with you?" his eyes looking into mine.

"Isabelle" this is freaking me out.

"Isabelle was with me"

Now I am freaking out even more.

"come with me" he says

"what? Why?" I question

"just come with me"

He walks me over to the chasm bridge and he puts his hand on my back. We get to the bridge and he pushes me and grabs my hand.

"grab the rail" he says with an angry voice. I grab the rail and everyone is watching me. I see Isabelle and she has a horrified look on her face and so does Aiden.

"you have three choices, hang there and I'll forget you sneaked off, fall and die or give up and you'll get cut". "you have to hang for 3 minutes because that's how long you were gone".

I hang there and water drips on hands and I feel like they are slipping. I feel my eyes start to sting and swell up with tears.

"time" Eric says with his arms crossed.

Aiden and James pull me up and I start to breath heavily. That freaked me out. Aiden hugs me and I don't hug him back. I think about what Octavia said and what Isabelle and Aiden said awhile ago, then I think about Eric. Through the rest of training I just think.

We finish training and its about 11:50pm and I'm starving. Isabelle walks over to me and she says "I'm hungry, you?" I nod.

We walk to our table and I sit next to Octavia and I yell "thanks so much for taking out of training so you can tell me shit, so I get in trouble. I could of died because of you".

"why what happened" Octavia says calmly.

"what happened, nothing just hanging of the chasm bridge because I was gone for three minutes".

"what? I'm sorry that happened, I didn't know that was going to happen". She says with a sad look on her face.

"sorry isn't good enough" I yell and I punch her in the face, she falls to the floor knocked out.

Then I feel tough hands on my shoulders pulling me back, I turn around and it's Eric. I can't deal with him right now.

I run to my accommodation and lie on my bed.

I can't deal with any

And I'm asleep.

Sorry this was so short. I have lots of study to do and I also went away for two days without my laptop, so i couldn't write it then.
