The Dauntless Fire (OC/Eric)

Chapter 11

1 week later

We are getting ready for the big test, the big fear test. If your too slow getting through your fear your out or get a lower rank, i've trained a lot and i hope i get first. I know one of the leaders are retiring soon so i want to be a leader, i really, really want to be a leader, so i really hope i get first on this.

"you ready for this?" Isabelle asks

"i was born ready" I reply with excitement in my voice.

"So I guess your going last because you're ranked first, like always" she says while smiling.

"Well I guess I was born to be dauntless and not to be stupid old erudite"

"Yeah, dauntless is the best, I'm glad I picked it"

"Aren't we all"

"Yeah" We walk to the room where we are doing the big test, we see the other initiates and dauntless born waiting for the test to start. I can't believe that i am first out of all of us including the dauntless born. When we finish, we will be officially dauntless members, so excited. 

The leaders of dauntless are here, members of dauntless, as well as members from erudite and the leader Jeanine

"welcome dauntless and some members of erudite and the initiates, today we are going to do the final fear test for the initiates, the rank you get will determine what jobs are available for you, the other dauntless leaders and i will join the initiates in their fair landscape" Max says, I look over at Eric and he is staring at me, i smile and he smiles back. I'm so ready for this, i've been practicing a lot. "we will be starting from the last person ranking then we will finish with the first ranking" he pauses "lets start off with Cody" Cody gets up and walks over to the chair and he lies down, while he is lying down the dauntless leaders go into another room, a dauntless member injects him with the serum and he goes under and you can see his fears on the screens that surround the chair in the middle.

All the other initiates have done their fear test and i'm the only one thats left, Aiden has just finished his and now they are about to call my name. I'm nervous, my palms are a bit sweaty, but i gotta keep calm, i can do this, it's not that hard, just think Eric's going to be there to hug you when you're finished.

"Now for the last initiate, Emily" I walk over to the chair and i sit down, the dauntless member brings the needle over and pushes it into my neck, he squeezes the needle pushing the serum into my neck. It stings a bit but its bearable.

I open my eyes and i can't see anything, its pitch black. I someone running behind me, i turn around and reach out to see if there is anything there, but there is nothing. I here more running behind me again then beside me, then something trips me over and i'm on the ground. I feel a thump on my chest, someone is on me, i feel their hands grip my neck, they start squeezing and i'm struggling to breathe, but i kick them in the chest and fall back and i jump on top on the thing. I continuously punch the thing until it disappears. I squeeze my eyes shut.

I reopen my eyes and i'm at dauntless and i see Eric, Four, Octavia, Isabelle, Aiden, Zeke and Logan are all standing infant of me talking to each other, ignorance, easy. I go over to them and shake them, seeing if they do anything but they ignore me, my heart rate speeds up. Come on calm down, its not real. I got an idea if they are ignoring me, i'll just ignore them, suck it. My heart beat starts to slow down and they disappear. On to the next one.

I turn around and i'm in a small room, Isabelle, Aiden, Eric, Octavia, Four, Zeke and Logan are all standing in front of me in a straight line, great this fear i hate this one, i gotta shoot myself, stupid. I look to my side and there is the table and on it was a gun, i pick it up and check how many bullets are in there are 6.
