Dylan's POV

WELL SHIT! That went great. Penny deserves so much more and I can't stand to see her with Flynn considering she can do so much better, plus he doesn't even love her. I don't know. Ever since I got back, Penny has been racing through my head non stop. When I go to bed, I think about her. When I eat lunch, I think about her. When I'm doing homework, I think about her. It's insane. I want to stop thinking about her because it's becoming ridiculous, but at the same time, I can't help but feel that I'm thinking about her for a reason. I know I've been gone for three years and maybe that's why I've been thinking about her so much, but it feels like more than that. I want to admit it, but I can't. Yes, I want to say that I-I like her, as more than a friend, but I just can't. At least I can admit it to myself. If I told her it'd ruin our friendship and I'm not even sure she feels the same way. I need to find out if she does, but then it's the question of will she want to date me or will it completely ruin our friendship right after we just got it back.

I wanted to run after her when she walked out, but I kinda just sat here and let the thoughts hit my mind. That was our first official fight. Ugh, I feel so bad. I know her parents haven't left yet, but I don't think they know she did. Should I text her, or walk over there? I think she just needs some space right now.

I decided to go get some apple pie without anyone noticing me, that way I didn't get any questions about Penny. She can explain to her family. I mean, Rachel is gonna go back to college in a week and get situated. Her summer is almost over. As for Connor, he's already started culinary school, so he's staying at the house. I snuck into the kitchen and went around the dinning room to get to the pie. I cut a slice and walked towards the door. Right before I got there, Connor walked in. Great.

"Hey Dylan. Where's Penny?"

Of course that would be his first question. "She, um, she went home."

"Why?" His face showed immediate confusion.

"We, kinda got into a little fight. I wanted to make sure she was okay, but she was really frustrated so I decided to give her some space. Plus, we've been together ever since I got back so some time to ourselves wouldn't hurt."

"Oh, what was the fight about? I swear O'brien if you hurt her..."

I cut him off quickly. "No, no, it was really nothing. It was about homecoming and Flynn and her deserving better. I don't want to sit here and tell you everything, but I was just looking out for her and she got upset about what I said."

"Well, what'd you say?"

"I just said that her and Flynn should break up because she deserves better."

"And by better, you mean you?"

"No, no! I just was watching out for her, that's it Connor. Look, can you please go check on her and make sure she's okay. And tell her I'm sorry. I didn't mean for us to fight. I also don't want her parents to be,concerned about it, so keep it to yourself please?"

He nodded his head, signalling a yes. "I'll make sure she's okay and make sure my mom and dad don't find out, but when it comes to apologizing, I'm not gonna do that for you. She wants to hear it from you."

"Ok, thanks Connor. I'll be over there by the morning and hopefully that's enough time for her to forgive me."

"And hey, dude, the girls always want to make you think it was your fault, so talk about it with her because it might not be all your fault." He winked and walked out the door. I laughed and walked over to the front door. I looked outside and saw him walking back to his house.
