-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After thinking about everything, I decided to leave the treehouse and make a snack. I walked down the ladder and through our huge backyard, only to reach the sliding glass door that led to he inside of my house. When I walked in, I was crowded by Rachel and Connor. They ran from the kitchen all the way to the glass door once they heard it shut.
"Omg. Penny. Are you ok? What happened? Did you faint? What did the nurse say? What did mom say?" Rachel was asking me all these questions and I answer them in order, with no detail.
"I'm fine, I was just stressed. I did faint. The nurse said I'd be fine and mom didn't really have anything to say." I walked past both of them, not wanting to talk and only wanting to go lay in bed for a while. Maybe even fall asleep and forget about everything until I have to wake up the next morning.
The last I remember was falling asleep at 4:03. I hoped I would've skipped through dinner and just wake up the next morning. I'd be refreshed and ready to tell everyone what happened. Whatever. I just needed to clear my mind and the only way to do that was to sleep.
(The middle of the night)
Bzzzzz. Bzzzzz. Bzzzzz. My phone kept going off. I wanted to ignore it, but it would not shut-up. I looked at the clock and it read 2:36 am. Who the hell was calling and texting me at 2:36 in the morning. I looked at my phone and realize it was another unknown number. I didn't know if I wanted to answer it or decline all the messages and calls and after realizing that this person was calling me so many times, it outta be important. I look at the texts. 'Penny, meet me in your treehouse at 2:30 am. I need to talk to you and it's really important. By now you prob know who this is. Hope you come.'Dylan? Was this really Dylan texting me or some fake ass person with no life. I really didn't want my life to end up like the Pretty Little Liars series. All I knew was that I had to go out to the treehouse and I wasn't going to make any assumptions on who was texting me, until I saw this person face to face.
I grab a sweatshirt and put on my slippers. I quietly headed down the wooden stairs and made my way to the glass door. I unlocked it, opening it steadily and closing it behind me. I trip over some branches in the yard and start heading towards the back of the trees, where the treehouse is. I walk up the ladder and sit patiently and wait for this person to show up because apparently, he/she wasn't there yet. I check my phone again and have no new messages. The time reads 2:31.
You could say I waited another five minutes and still no show from anyone. I give up hope and begin to walk back down the ladder, only to find myself stepping on a huge grey button. I step on it, and when I release my foot from it, the backyard begins to twinkle with lights hung all around the yard. I look down to my feet and see a picnic set up with two table settings. I step down the ladder and onto the ground, where I stay still looking at the picnic. I see a note set on the side of the picnic. I bend down and reach for it.
Someone left a note. 'This was a distraction.' Huh? Did the note really just say that. What the hell does that mean? Before I know it, I am grabbed from behind and pulled into a hug. Right away, I know what the nite meant know. I can't see the persons face, but I don't need to. I already know Dylan is hugging me and I don't want him to let go.
