Twenty Seven

Once everyone had rested, we were ready to try find the cafeteria so we had food. It was Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, T-dog, dad and Hershel who went this time while the rest of us cleaned up the cells.

" So, it aint happening?" Carol asked " Shut up" I spat making her, mom and Beth laugh. " I think it's cute, and Beth is right. Daryl's had his eyes on you since this whole group first started back in the mountains, wasnt it obvious?" Carol asked. I shook my head " No, I was so worried about Shane and people finding out, mom getting mad. I remember Merle-" I stopped, remembering Daryl was the one who stopped Merle from hurtinf me in the mountains.

" Remember what about Merle?" Mom asked, snapping me from my thoughts. " Nothing" I shook my head. " Amber" mom gave me a look, I sighed. " Merle found out about me and Shane before you found out mom. He followed me into the woods and told me that if I didn't sleep with him then he was going to tell you how much of a slut I was.". I said slowly.

" He what?" Mom snapped, " He made me take my shirt and bra off, I was shaking like a leaf, but Daryl stopped him, told him it was Merle's turn to go on the run and he saved me.". " See, hes been your knight in shining armour this whole time" Carol smiled. " Yeah, hes protected me so much, I didnt even realise it.".

After a while we suddenly heard screaming, we all ran out of our cells, panicking when Dad and Glenn brought Hershel into his cell. His leg was gone, he was covered in blood.

"Dad?" I asked, following after him " Stay here, its not safe right now.". Dad shut the door to the cell and gave me the key, " Do not let anyone in.".

I went back to Hershel, mom and Carol were going through all of our towels. " We need water and towels" Carol panicked. " I'll grab them, Carl stay at the door to let me in" " Okay" he nodded, following me and letting me out of the cell room and into the kitchen where our group were pointing their weapons at five men in prison jumpsuits.

" What the hell are you doing here?!" Dad snapped at me, " We need towels for Hershel" I snapped back. " Woah, mama" the Mexican man in front of dad smirked at me. " It's been a while since I've seen a woman, especially one was fine as you" he smirked, his dark eyes examining my body.

" Hey!" Dad yelled, pointing his gun at his head " Keep your eyes on me, she aint apart of this.". " We'll make a new deal, you help us clear out a cell block and this fine beautiful woman, and we'll give you half of our food.". " You aint gonna touch her" Daryl spat, pushing me behind him. " Ah, you're with this beautiful woman?" He asked, " I am, and if you say one more word about her, this arrow is going through your head!".

" We don't want to cause any trouble" the tall black man said. " We won't touch her, what do you need?" He asked. " Towels, they're behind you.". I said. The tall man nodded and picked up the basket of towels and walked forward, putting them down on the floor in front of dad.

" We want no trouble."., " Amber take it" dad spoke up. All the men in our group stepped closer as I stepped forward to grab the towels. The Mexican man stood forward, going to grab my arm when I pulled my gun on him and pointed it as his dick. " Don't even think about it" I spat. " Mama likes to play" he smirked. Dad stepped forward again, blocking his path to me so I could grab the baskets and get back to Hershel. Carl quickly locked the gate as our group walked away with the prisoners.

" What was that?" Mom asked, " They found prisoners, they're gonna help him clear out a block and stay away from us.

Our group came back, blood on their clothes. " What happened?" Mom asked. " Two of the prisoners are im cell block D. The rest are taking care of. How's Hershel?".

Daryl grabbed my hand and brought me upstairs, " What the hell were ya thinking?" He spat, " Putting yourself in that situation with people we don't know. Prisoners we don't know", " I needed towels to help stop the bleeding, I didnt know you were having a stand off" I spat back. " You didn't hear us yelling at them to stay away?!", " No I didn't!".
