William and Henry went to get drinks for Karen and Rita at a club that they considered fun. Karen saw that time to get closer to Rita, she was just so interesting like a toy that could not be put down.
"So Rita how did you heal me?" Karen asked leaning closer to her.
"Karen you were suffering from heat stroke," Rita said it so simply, "I just gave you water and your brothers got the hospital. That is all."
"No that is not what happen and you know it," Karen said, "Come on, tell me what did you do to heal me? Do you have a gift of healing or something."
"Please another time," Rita sighed, she knew that Karen was going to persue more so she added, "I really don't like to talk about myself in a place where humans can hear us."
Karen understood what she was saying but later she will find out about her new friend, she had to. When Henry and WIlliam came back with their drinks Rita started to smoothly drink her coke.
"Do the three of you go to the same clubs often?" Rita broke the awkward silence.
William nodded, "It helps us keep an eye out on each other. Less trouble that way."
"That's very smart of you," Rita complimented, "I think you guys can tell that I don't really go out that often anyway."
"Why not?" Karen asked, "Don't you go out with your friends to relax from the stress from being an author?"
"I don't really have that many friends," Rita sighed, "I make sure that I stay away from everyone."
"Why?" Henry asked.
"It's complicated," she sighed, "I don't want to hurt anyone."
"It seems that you are afraid to be hurt yourself." William said.
"That is true," Rita said, "I admit that but I am used to running what might hurt. Well at least most of the time."
"That's not good," Karen said, "You have to face them! Or how would you live everyday."
Rita smiled at Karen and patted her head, "You are right," was all she said.
"So have you already finished your script for your next book?" Henry asked.
Rita nodded, "Yes that is why I am at school right now."
"Does it take you a long time to finish a book that you write?" William asked.
Rita shook her head, "Not really." she sighed, "I didn't really want to go outside when I finished the last story I did so I just kept on writing the next one straight through the days."
"You shouldn't be doing that!" Karen said, "You will eventually be sick or become not well if you keep doing that."
"I'll keep that in mind," Karen said then noticed that Karen was shivering, "Karen where is your jacket?"
William turned to Karen, "Are you cold?"
Karen started to blush, "Sorry we suddenly just came here and I forgot how cold it becomes at night." she said.
Rita sighed and took off her jacket and placed it on her, "You will become sick if you aren't careful." she said.
Karen stared at Rita skin, "Wow you are so pale, it's so pretty like snow." she was going to poke her skin but Rita slightly moved away.
"I don't really like showing my skin," Rita said, "but I would rather you not get a cold."
"Thank you!" Karen hugged Rita and a vision flashed in her eyes. This time the three siblings were being held hostage and a familiar face was talking to them. Rita quickly shoved Karen away from her and her breath was struggeling to come out.
Rita saw Karen's shocked face and put her cold hand on her forehead, "I apologize Karen as I said before I don't like being touched. I'm sorry for my rudeness though. Are you hurt?"
Karen shook her head, "Yeah I'm okay but I'm sorry that I made you uncomfortable. I'll try to keep my distance." she could tell that something else happen but didn't want to push on.
Rita sighed, "I know this may sound out of the blue or so but the person who passed Rita before she passed out seemed to be after your kind. Blindlessly I might add but there is someone behind his actions as well. I don't know why I think you might want to know it but I might want to advise you two just in case. you are thinking about taking him in your hands. Don't do anything that will involve blood. That won't solve anything."
"Why do I have a feeling that you are warning us not to get in to violence," William said.
"I may be but that is not the case," she straighten her voice and back, "There are things that you two don't need to handle or know. Lucky for you two. Anyways I think it's time for me to get home."
"It is getting late how's about we all go together since we are going the same place." Henry suggested.
"No there is something I need to take care of before getting home," she said and got out her wallet, "Drinks are on me so stay and make sure you guys enjoy it." she smiled before going out of the club.
Karen sighed, "Henry that was pretty bold of you to invite her to come home with us," she gave him a sneaky smile, "Do you have a crush on her?"
Henry started to blush, "No! I just like her books. They are really dark yet has a bright ending. One year I think she even got an award for her books that was titled Master of Words."
"You really are a fan of hers," William said.
"You would too Will if you read more books." he said.
"On another note I think we should decide whether or not to keep our distance from Rita." William sid.
"Why should we keep our distance?" Karen asked.
"I'm not sure but I think she would want to be alone," Willaim said, "I am getting this sense that she was trying to get away from us."
"That gives us more reason to not keep a distance!" Karen pointed out, "I think she keeps her distance from everyone because she might think it's safer to be alone. Knowing that I think we should try to keep her company, even if she complains."
Henry nodded in agreement, "Besides she is our neighbor so it'll be easier to keep an eye on her."
"Okay I guess it is settled but since I am a teacher I have to make sure I don't become suspicous."
"I don't think you will have to worry about that since we will be graduating next friday."
"Yeah that's true," William said, "but she may know some things that we don't even aware of."
"That makes it more interesting," Karen said, "Don't you think?" They both nodded, "Then it's decided oh and I kind of want to talk to her in privacy tomorrow so please don't try to eavesdrop." she knew that they would try to but she did not want Rita to not trust them or her.
