The Seeing and Try

Chapter Eight

Karen was surprised to see a man coming out of Rita's apartment. He saw her staring at him and he smiled, "You must be Rita's neighbors. Nice to meet you." 

"Is Rita in trouble?" Karen asked she gave him worries in his eyes. 

"Not that I know of," he said then stepped towards her. 

"Who are you?" Henry asked. 

"The three of you like Rita don't you?" he looked directly in to all of their eyes, "Well she is stubborn but I'm sure that if you can hold on for a bit longer you'll be able to stay with her." 

"Who are you?" William asked. 

"Oh me?" he knew that William viewed him as a lover or something, "I am just a messenger for the family. Do the three of you guys want to know more about her. Rita that is." 

The three of them nodded and he smiled, "Okay then but let's not talk out here or Rita would find out what I have been up to." 

Karen nodded and opened the door for him to their apartment. He sat down on the couch and the other three joined him, "So what is your name?" 

"Aiden Tye," he said, "I work with the police but also a friend of Rita's brother." 

"She has a brother?" 

"Yes his name is popular so I will try not to mention him since she should be able to do that." Aiden said.

"What are you to Rita?" William asked. 

"Oh are you interested in her?" Aiden asked, "Sorry but I think you should back away if you are looking for a real relationship."

 "Why?" Henry asked. 

"Because she will make sure that there is no love that could cover what she used to have." Aiden sighed, "Plus there is someone that already has their claws on her. He doesn't deserve her at all and she is too good for him but he will never give up." 

"So what can you tell us about Rita." Karen said. 

"Only what I've read on her file," Aiden sighed, "She is a writer but also a helper for the government. Her parents died in an accident but the strange thing is that the bodies were never found. They were supposedly dead and then she was put in to the system until her brother got her out. She has been in rough situations that I would not like to remind her." 

"Then you should stop telling them my private life," Rita was right behind him and the three siblings didn't even sense her, "Aiden didn't I tell you that talking behind someones back is bad manners." 

"You should talk since you came in to their apartment without permission." Aiden laughed. 

"The door was open," she looked up to William and then shook her head, "I apologize that my associate has been disturbing your evening." 

"That's not it!" Karen said, "We just want to know more about you." 

"I guess I'm going to have to make myself clear then," Rita turned to the three siblings, "One of you will die if you are around me. I will not risk that not even a guess will stop it. I am not going to get someone hurt again." she turned back to Aiden and walked him back. 

The door echoed when it closed. Karen turned to her brothers who were uncertain what to do now, "I think we should stick around her," 

"You really are stubborn," William sighed then turned to Henry, "What do you think?" 

"I think we should take our chances," he said and William could see that his brother was not giving up on her. 

"Then I guess it's settled," William clasped his hands together, "I think this is going to be an annoyance to Rita but it was her choice to make us like that." 

"William do you think you want to talk to her alone?" Karen suggested. 

"What would that do?" WIlliam asked. 

"Yeah," Henry stepped in, "What's the point in that?" 

"I think that William can break Rita since she is older than both of you but she is not comfortable keeping things from us as well." Karen said. 

William shrugged, "It couldn't hurt," he said, "Okay I'll have a visit with her tomorrow," he thought that it was tough enough for her right now for some reason so they should give her space for now.
