Rita dragged Aiden to an empty park by the neck. She swung him ahead of her and let him become steady on his feet.

"You don't have to be so rou-," Rita punched him in the face and then in the stomache.

"What do you think you're doing?" she asked in anger.

"I thought I was doing you a favor," he grunted.

"How?" she shouted, "By getting more people in danger!"

"Don't you know they were vampires?" Aiden asked.

"Of course I knew but the girl is not," she said, "Karen is human."

"What are you sure?" she gave him a stare and he backed off, "Of course you are. So why is it so bad for you to not get close with those three?"

Rita grabbed his collar, "Because I saw their future and one of them were dying while the others were away. I don't want that to happen."

"You can't change what might happen," Aiden said.

"I can try." she said.

"Hey what is really going on?" Aiden asked.

"Personal information Mr. Tye," she said and turned away from him, "I will see what I can do tomorrow and get back to you."

The next day Rita snuck in to the department as usaul and went straight to the morgue where a lady in a lab coat sat at eating a sandwitch.

"It's nice to see you," Rita blew in to her ear and the lady jumped out of her chair and the snack she was eating dropped down to the plate.

"Rtia!" she said, "You're early."

"I wanted to see the bodies as soon as possible." Rita smiled and her friend nodded getting the keys to the cold storage unit. She pulled out the slate of several dead bodies that had the same signature. Each body that was pulled out Rita could see the sign and it was not what she wanted to see. She didn't want to be right but it was.

"Do you think this case will have a happy ending?"

Rita shook her head, "For some people yes but for others no," she thanked her friend for taking the time to show her the bodies and headed home.

As Rita was walking up the stairs to her apartment she thought about how to break it to Aiden that he should close the case as cold because she knew that the vampire government was going to go in to it when they find out that it was their kind that was causing the trouble. A combination of human and immortal detectives working together was certainly a bad idea.

When Rita reached the told of the stairs she saw William waiting for her in front of her door.

"You went out early," he commented as she went to her door.

"Where I go is none of your business." she sighed then turned to him, "Why are you here?"

"Well I live right beside you," he pointed out.

"You know what I mean," she could see that Karen put him up to it but why do they want to know about her so much?

"I just want to get to know you," he said, "You know that we aren't going to leave you alone."

"And why is that exactly?" she asked unlocking the door.

"I don't know honestly but you seem to give this scent that you don't like to be alone but think that you don't have a choice," William said and then gestured to the door, "So do you think I can enter your home?"

Rita stared at him for a moment and sighed, "Fine you won't stay away from me I might as well let you in," she entered her apartment and William shut the door behind him.
