Chapter 84. The Foot Clan Puppet

Karai: You came. Good. I need to speak to you about something.
Leo: Ok Karai, what is it you wanted to speak to me about?
Karai: It's about that Vampire brat and her annoying pets
Leo: You mean Rachel?
Karai: Yeah, her. I'm sick and tired of her talking down to me. Why does she do this?
Leo: ...yeah, you're gonna need to ask Ragna; he knows her better than all of us.
Karai: Well, if you have the chance, give her this.
Karai gives Leo a note.

Meanwhile, Rachel was standing on the roof watching the night sky when she heard Leo behind her.
Leo: So this is where you've been, Rachel?
Gii: Hey! It's the blue Boy Scout!
Leo: Blue Boy Scout? really?
Rachel: So is there anything I can do for you, Leo?
Leo: Karai gave me this. Please read it.
Rachel took the note from Leo and read it, which showed a challenge to Rachel from Karai.
Rachel: Tell her I have no intent on doing so. So I need you to turn down the offer for me.
Leo: Yeah, Ok Why aren't you getting Ragna to do this?
Rachel: He's taking care of an errand for me. So you were the next best option.
Leo: So what's the reason for turning it down?
Rachel: I don't want to fight her.
Leo: Mind explaining it further?
Rachel: I don't feel like it.
Leo: That's not what I meant.
Gii: Come on, Princess you got to give a better reason!
Rachel, irritated by Gii's nonsense. She begins to stretch the bat familiar
Gii: Oww... I can't stretch that far! You're gonna tear me in half!

Rachel, unsatisfied, throws Gii near a trash can.
Leo: Um, do you always do this?
Rachel: Of course.
Flashback
Ragna: Oh, don't get me started on the Rabbit. She constantly bosses me around with that condescending attitude, and treats me like some damn servant. In fact, she does this to everyone. God, it just pisses me off.
Flashback end
Leo: Now I see why Ragna can't stand her.
Gii flies out of the garbage and shakes off the trash that covered the bat familiar.
Leo: You okay?
Nago: Don't worry, he's fine.
That was when Rachel noticed a presence
Rachel: Come now, Karai, say hello. I know you're here.
Karai landed in front of Leo and Rachel.

Karai: Don't get in my way, Rachel.
Rachel: I could say the same to you, Karai. What are you planning? Do you really believe you can defeat Ragna with your little toy?
Karai: Cute, but I'm not here to exchange verbal jabs with you. I'm just here to challenge you.
Rachel: Ah, my mistake. I see YOU are on the verge of breaking. A confused puppet who has had her strings pulled over and over. Sadly, I fear you are beyond repair.

This instantly struck a nerve in Karai, the same insult that had cut deep in her heart; heck, even Leo was heavily shocked at what Rachel told Karai.
Karai: I'M NOT A PUPPET!
Rachel: Then answer me this: why would you continue to devote your life to him, when all he does is pull your strings?
Karai grits her teeth in anger; she was tired of being called a puppet.
Gii: Hey! The princess is asking you a question, Buddy!
Nago: You shouldn't ignore people, darling. That's dreadfully rude, you know.
"Silence," Rachel said as she whacked both Nago and Gii
Nago/Gii: Ouch!
Leo: You really need to stop abusing your pets, Rachel.
Karai: So will you accept my challenge or not?
Rachel: ...Leo, go ahead.
Leo: Are you serious? Why me? Ugh fine.
"Sorry, Karai, but Rachel is gonna have to turn down that challenge," Leo said.
Karai: Why is that?
Leo: She doesn't feel like it.
Karai: Leo, you need to explain why a BRAT like her won't accept my challenge.
Nago: oh dear.
Gii: You shouldn't have said that.
Rachel: Leo, tell her that I have canceled my plans and I will accept her duel. Which gives me a brilliant idea. Karai, why don't you and I play a little game?
Karai: I don't have time for your games, Vampire.
Rachel: If you can manage to leave a scratch on me before I finish my tea, I will give you the location of Ragna the Bloodedge.

Rachel: Leo, observe. As I teach your Foot Clan Girlfriend to learn her place, Gii, my tea.
Leo: Rachel, you got the wrong idea; she's not my girlfriend.
Gii: On it!
Gii poured some tea into her cup.
"And... go," Rachel said as she snapped her fingers.
Karai takes out her tanto and attacks Rachel, but her drive instantly activates and blows Karai back a few feet while Rachel sips her tea from her cup.
Rachel twirls backwards with the cup in her hand, dodging Karai's incoming attacks.
Gii: Isn't the Princess amazing!?
Leo: You kidding? She's basically toying with her.
Rachel: Tiny Lobelia!
Nago fires several rods from his cannon
Rachel then takes out a frog.
Rachel: George the XIII!
Rachel tosses the frog to Karai, who dodges it. But combined with her Sylphid drive, George the XIII was thrown toward Karai, which zaps her.
Rachel: Sword Iris!
As Rachel snapped her fingers, the rods instantly went off as lightning struck down on them
As Karai got up, she realized Rachel was almost done with her tea. She needed to beat her fast, so she threw a Kunai at her. Rachel looked up and tossed her cup in the air to dodge the Kunai before catching it with the tip of her umbrella
Karai: Showoff.
Nago: I'd watch your tone if I were you; you don't want to get on the Princess' bad side.
Karai narrowed her eyes at the young Vampire princess and tried to stab her, but Rachel slipped past and backhanded Karai.
As Karai fell to the ground, Rachel had already finished her tea.
Rachel: Just as expected from Shredder's puppet. You disappoint me.
Karai: Shut Up! I'm no one's puppet. I'm the Foot Clan's second in command. Ever since my father took me in, I owe him everything. He trained me, supported me. And since then I have pledged my loyalty and devotion to him! And I won't let anyone slip me away from my father!
But before she can continue, Rachel slapped Karai's face with her hand to stop her from talking about her devotion to Shredder, which sends her flying.
Rachel: You still won't admit the truth. Just as I thought, your loyalty to Shredder has blinded you.
Karai: I am Shredder's daughter!
Rachel: No. All you are is a brainwashed tool used by Shredder to despise Hamato Yoshi.
Karai: Shut up! You don't know me! You don't know anything about my father either!
Rachel: Baden Baden Lily!
Rachel summons forth a massive thunderbolt from the sky, as Karai dodges back. Karai then decided to put away her weapon because at this rate she won't be able to win.
Rachel: Soon you'll realize the truth about your father's manipulation. When the time comes, I hope you make the right decision. And I'm sure that Ragna told you the same thing about your loyalty to Shredder.
"If it's impossible, then I'll have to make it possible. If I can't level up to Ragna, then I'll drag him down here! I'll do whatever it takes. Whatever it takes!" Karai said before she disappeared using a smoke bomb.
Rachel: What a sad child... Her loyalty to Shredder has corrupted her heart and made her blind.
Leo: Rachel, what was that?
Rachel: She needed to be put in her place. Is that a problem?
Leo: Yeah, you called her a puppet and a brainwashed tool! Why would you even call her that!?
Rachel: Shredder has been pulling her strings just to spite you and your family. I'm sure you've noticed it by now. Soon she'll realize the truth with her own eyes. Run along now to Ragna; Valkenhayn is waiting for my return.
"Hope we meet again Blue Boy Scout!" Gii said before Rachel and her familiars teleported
