Luke's POV

I can't believe what I just saw. And it doesn't look like the first time they kissed.

"Luke..." Ashton said shakily.

"You said there was nothing going on between you two. Was that a lie? Or is this the first time?"

"Uh... It was a lie. But-"

"Why would you lie to me?" I interrupted. "We're supposed to tell each other everything."

"But Luke... We didn't tell you because we thought it would make you feel awkward. "Michael explained. "And after Calum came along, we just got used to our secret. And we kept it that way."

"Wait..." I said confused. "After Calum came along? How long have you two been together?"

I walked towards them and noticed the guilt in their eyes.

"A-About uh, a week before C-Calum came to our school." Ashton stuttered.

"Are you serious!?" I asked angrily with my hands to my head. "I can't believe you guys!"

I looked over at Calum and noticed the look in his face.

"Calum..." I started.
"Please wait outside."

He walked out immediately without a word.

"Luke, we're sorry. Really sorry. We should've told you." Michael said as he stood up and Ashton did the same.

"Yeah exactly." I scoffed. "You should've. But you didn't..."

"Guys, honestly," I continued with a softer voice. "It wouldn't have been awkward. Yes, maybe it would've been a little weird, my two best friends being together. But I would've gotten used to it."

"We're so sorry... Please forgive us." Ashton pleaded.

Ignoring him I said, "I've told you everything... And you've told me nothing. What else have you been hiding from me!?"

"Nothing, Luke." Michael responded. "Really. We've told you everything-"

"How do I know that!?" I asked, yelling.

I looked at them one last time before marching outside.

And there Calum was, just sitting on the steps.

"Take me home..." I sighed.

-

"What do you think about it?" I asked Calum as we sat there on my bed.

"Honestly Luke," Calum began, and I could see the worry in his eyes. "I don't think you should be mad at them for what they did. Michael and Ashton are great friends. They care about you. They actually thought about you when they decided their relationship should be a secret. They didn't want you to feel awkward or uncomfortable."

"We promised to tell each other everything. A promise is a promise."

"I agree, Luke. A promise is a promise." He said as our fingers interlocked. "But they apologized, and I know they meant it. They're your best friends."

"Friends come and go." I scoffed.

"Not friends like these."

I shook my head.

"They made a mistake." Calum spoke again. "But one mistake shouldn't ruin an awesome friendship like this one... And if you ever let go of this friendship, you will regret it one day. 'Cause how can you not miss being friends with those 2. They're the best."
