"Lights out" was a new thing amongst the Akatsuki. Ever since Kenna had come back leader had issued a strict rule of not leaving our room after 10:00 o'clock. Why he did it was beyond me, and honestly the idea of it all just seemed childish.

Who does he think is going to follow the rule anyway? We're just a big group of criminals! If it wasn't already obvious we don't really like to follow rules.

That being said it is currently 11:46, and I've decided now is the best time to pay a visit to mister-no-emotions; who vaguely stated earlier that he needed me for something.

I didn't even try and be quiet when I swung open the door and stalked down the hall towards his room. I barely had time to stop myself when I realized that his door was cracked. He was sitting at his desk his head in his hands. I had never seen a man look so defeated. For a moment I stared at him, curious as to what he was thinking. Maybe he was asleep? When suddenly my hand reflexively moved to lightly tap the door. Spying was wrong.

He spun around quicker than I expected, his face clearing itself of all emotion.

"Mia." It was a statement, not a question. I slowly opened the door and plopped down criss cross onto his bed.

"What do you need?"

I rocked back and forth "But the real question is what do YOU need? You're the one who said you wanted to talk earlier."

"oh yeah..." I could find a hint of sadness in his voice.
"I need you to accompany me on a little mission."

My head cocked to the side, "What kind of mission?"

"Well it's more of an obligation, but I still would like you to come."

Obligation?

"Does leader know about this?"
The minute I asked it I wanted to take it back, why is that any of my business anyways?

Itachi chuckled, "I'm leaving tomorrow morning at dawn." And then he turned back around but I wasn't done talking. I had so many questions still.

"Wait a minute you need to be a little less vague than that. What is this mission obligation thing?"

"I just have to deal with some personal matters and I think you would be a good ally."

"So I'm just supposed to trust you?"

"Yes."

I rolled my eyes, "you know what fine, but if I die because of this mystery mission Im holding you personally responsible." I crossed my arms.

Itachi chuckled again, and shrugged his shoulders.

"That's really all you're going to tell me?!" I huffed.

He nodded.

"Well is anyone else going?"

"Kisame."

"So just me you and Kisame?"

He nodded, hands still glued to his desk, he was writing something down on paper.

I mean I guess it would be nice to go on a mission without Tobi for once. Even if it is some shady unofficial, as Itachi calls it, obligation.

"Fine!" I sighed, "I'll go with you, but on one condition, we don't tell Tobi anything."

"Deal."

Then I stood up.

We shook on it.

I left the room, and seconds later I was being dragged down the hall with a hand covering my mouth.

"So Mia, wanna tell me why you're out of bed after lights out." An all too familiar voice stifled back a chuckle.

I practically ripped her hands off of my mouth, "Kenna, Jesus, you scared the hell out of me!"

She responded by laughing.

"You know I could be asking you the same question!" My face felt hot, it was easy to get me worked up after everything that's happened.

"I was following you." She raised and eyebrow, "I heard your door as it slammed shut. So I peeked my head out the door and was curious as to what you were up to so I followed you." She crossed her arms now.

"How the hell did I not notice you?"

She shrugged.

"Well I'm going to bed I have to get up early tomorrow." I pivoted back towards my room when she grabbed my arm.

"Wait a minute. Do you wanna explain what's going on with Itachi?" A hint of concern in her voice.

"I honestly don't know, he just said that he needed my help with some sort of special mission."

"Special mission?"

"Yeah like some long term obligation or something, I guess." I shrugged.

Her eyes went blank as she stared into the darkness surrounding us in the dimly lit hallways, "no..." She mumbled.

"What?"

"I know what he's talking about sadly..."

"Okay, well tell me then." I grabbed her by the shoulders curiosity possibly seeping out my pours, but a sudden change in her attitude left me feeling sort of defeated.

"It's a very long story." She sighed.

So I led her back to my room and we sat on my bed.

"Kenna why do I get this sad vibe not only from you but also from Itachi about this whole special mission thing? What exactly does he plan on doing?" My eyebrows furrowed, and she lifted her head to make eye contact.

"He's going to kill his brother."
