Prepping for the Day

We lie tangled together after our lovemaking, breathing deeply and stroking each other gently. I think about the sensual touches, the sacred kisses, the whispered words of love. Tom is the most powerful lover I've ever known, the type who knows how to hold his strength in check to show the right amount of gentleness, then use his might to drive me to the edge of sanity.

"I'm sorry, Love, that was irresponsible," Tom says, "I didn't use a condom." As I release my breath, afraid when he started the statement with what sounded like regret, I say "It's okay. I use contraception."

We continue to lie quietly. "If something were to happen...if our protection didn't work...I'd take responsibility, Mia," Tom says seriously. As I look at Tom, there's just a bit of a softness in his eyes.

"So that's your evil plan?"

"What?" Tom asks, having not caught on to what I'm playing at.

"To impregnate me so that I become hideous and undesirable to all other males of our species," I say, looking very serious.

Tom laughs then starts kissing me. "I would hardly...call it an evil... plan...I fear to think...that you would...likely become even more...beautiful and desirable...if you were pregnant," he says while planting little kisses all over my face.

I stop his little kiss assault by taking his face in my hands and kissing his lips soundly. Tom groans into my lips as I end the kiss. "If we don't get up and get moving," I say, "we'll be in bed all day." "You say that like it's a bad thing," Tom says, wrapping me in his arms as if to never let me go.

I wiggle out of his grasp and wrap myself in the sheet as I stand. "Come on, Hiddleston, time to get up.  Let's get cracking. Daylight's a burning," I say, finally exhausting all my chipper morning pep talks. Tom pouts at me and folds his arms across his chest in petulant resistance. As I see his refusal to give in, I lift the sheet slightly to reveal a bit of my thigh. A little glimmer of interest shows in Tom's eyes. At this, I drop the sheet from my front just enough to show the upper curve of my breasts. "If you get up, I promise we can scrub each other clean in the shower," I say, with a waggle of my eyebrows.

At this, Tom pounces out of bed and begins chasing me to the bathroom with arms outstretched, trying to snag the sheet from my body while I laugh in my escape.

Prepping for the Inevitable

We stand at the counter in Tom's kitchen, waiting for the kettle to boil. "I can't believe you drink tea instead of coffee in the morning," Tom says. "It's autumn, so I drink tea. If it were spring or summer, I'd drink coffee," I say, as if it is the most logical thing in the world. "And in the winter?" Tom asks. "Have you not been following my logic, Mr. Hiddleston? If you had, you'd be able to clearly discern that it's hot cocoa," I say. At this, Tom bursts into laughter as the kettle starts to sing.

"So, what are our plans for the day, my Love?" Tom asks as he makes our tea. I've been dreading this moment, so I try to bury the awful topic with some good ones. "Well, as it's late, we could go to brunch somewhere. Or we could go to the market and get things to make brunch here. We could spend the day in, reading, watching TV or whatnot (Tom's browse waggles at my mention of 'whatnot'), or we could go out to see some sights or go for a drive. Oh, and I need to stop by my hotel so I can pack up and check out," I say all of this casually.

Ever perceptive, Tom picks up on the last topic immediately. "Right, this is your last day before returning to filming," Tom says as the smile leaves his face. I walk toward him and rub my hands up and down his arms in reassurance. "Hey now, I'm just going back to the little apartment they have for me and the filming set. It's not like they're sending me to the Tower of London, though that may come later depending on how the film does at the box office," I say as a joke to get Tom to smile. It works, but the bubble has still burst. We both know it's getting closer to back to reality time for both of us.
