Dead as dead can be....the world is a wast land. I'm a special child sent to search for life. My name is Night. You see i don't know my real name i only know that Sophia found me in the middle of nowhere.
Sophia is a docter. Well more like a scientist. She found me and asked me my name i said "Nightmare." Since then I've be called Night.
I'm only 14 years old but i know more about these zombies than Sophia. I also know how they were raised but I have never told anyone about that it's mine and their secret.
Chapter 1
Sophia raised the brush to my hair one more time. She like brushing my dark black hair. It's soothing for her.
"Night, what are you planning to do toaday?" Sophia asked as she set the brush down and looked down at my dark jeans with holes in them and my My Chemical Romance tshirt.
"I don't know yet Sophia" I said as i stood up . I'm almost as tall as her.
"Well the boys are heading out today to go find any living being left." She said looking at the stack of books i had on my desk. I love to read i just can't stop reading.
"Hmm i wonder if I can hitch a ride and get some more books to read." I said knowing she would like if i went with them. The boys didn't keep really good guard on each other.
"That sounds like a good idea." She said and that is how I ended up sitting next to Jerry, A really tall 15 year old, on a drive through the town searching for any life.
When we turned a coner i told Jerry to stop. I don't know why but i thought we needed to stop. As i walkde I could hear a soft sound. As I got closer it sounded like a baby crying.
I walked around the local hospital and found a bus parked out front. The bus had bars on its windows.
There was a gun shot and I moved quickly enough to dogde the dead zombie falling toward me. Jeesh and the boys need to watch more closly. I looked up to see who has saved me and saw a boy with pitch black hair looking down at me. His eyes caught mine and something about him seemed familar.
"Night!" I heard Jerry scream.
"So that's your name." said the black haired kid.
"It's not my real name." I said as he raised one eyebrow in questioning."I don't know my real name." i said silently.
He heard and something changed in his eyes something that amazed me.
Jerry walked up behind me gashing for air when he saw the black haired kid."Who are you?" Jerry manged to gash out.
"My name Jake." he said.
I slowly looked behind him to see a small group of people standing behind him."Let's get out of zombie reach." I said as i looked towrd the group of zombies walking this way. Both boys nodded.
The hopital they stayed in was very safe from all the zombies. i was amazed.
"So Night and?" Jake asked as he sat down in a docter's chair. The rest of his people were in the other rooms acting normal.
"Jerry." I said standing over by the window looking out at the zombies. Very quicly i let my power out to see what spot the zombies would try to sneak at. They had no idea.
"Really well Jerry you should watch your girl more closely."Jake said as he rested his feet on the desk.
"I'm not his girl." i said angrly as i turned away from the zombies to see Jake smiling and Jerry looking dumbfounded.
'Well them what are you guys doing out there with no car?" He asked as he looked at me giving up on trying to get Jerry to talk.
"We have been sent out searching for living people and we do have a car we just left it." I said as i looked out the window again.
"Why?" he asked sounding like it was nothing but boredom but i knew better this was important to him.
"I don't know." I said.
"She said we had to stop and got out and started walking around." Jerry said. I gave him a look but Jake looked at me hen turned back to Jerry. "Also I have to go to the bathroom."Jerry said getting up and leaving.
I looked at Jake and he looked at me."What?" i asked.
"Did you wake up around a church?" I froze as soon as that left his mouth. How did he know?
"Yes." I said caustily.
He slowly stood up and walked over to the window by me. " You remind me of an old friend she was in love."He said looking in my eyes. "She fell in love with a demon." The words struck me and i remebered a girl but she wasnt me.
"That's not me." I said.
"I know." He said smiling."I know, she was your sister." He voice froze every cell in my body because it sounded so familar and something about it made me want him.
