The Her Lover tour was conceptualized by Stevie prior to my accident. The first leg is in LA, which will be followed by other major cities in the country. If the US tour will be successful, we could pitch it to different countries--well that's according to Danny, my pseudo manager. Danny took over Stevie's responsibilities on this tour when Stevie withdrew from the project due to personal reasons.
I have not seen Stevie since that day at the hospital. She dropped my stuff at my place when I was not there. But I could sense my Mom and Stevie are meeting up secretly. I just do not want to ask my Mom about Stevie--in spite of me being her daughter, she would not let me get to Stevie especially if Stevie ends up getting hurt again. I know she is that protective of Stevie.
I may not remember entering Pab's but the music came back to me naturally—well with the little help from Danny and Ali. The music I created is reminding me of a beautiful love story--maybe that of Stevie and mine.
The rehearsals were keeping me busy. These immensely helped me to get over my relationship with Torey, my accident, and my amnesia bundled with the head aches that come with it. STALI (that is apparently the name of Ali, Stevie and my band) would have a special participation in my concert. Ali has joined me often in practices but Stevie has not attended any.
"Is Stevie coming today?" I asked Ali. She has been patient with me asking about Stevie every rehearsal day. This, by all means, gave her the right to tease me with great deal.
"I do not think so. I heard she is on a break and will back days from now," Ali responded.
"Do you think she's still in LA? Or is she outside of the country?"
"That I do not know. Stevie has not gone out of the country but you can never tell. Maybe she has run away to Paris and has found your replacement there. Ha-ha."
"That could be a possibility." I could not hide my disappointment.
"Hey come on! Just send her a message already."
"I just might."
"Do it sooner. She may have let you go but it does not mean she does not want you anymore. She is probably waiting for you. But this I could tell--she would not wait forever."
Stevie has been the subject of the triggered flashes of my memory. Most of them are too good to be true. But maybe that was how our relationship was--dreamlike. I could not just put everything together. Stevie is the key to the find the missing pieces of me.
After the rehearsal, I dropped by Starbucks before meeting Torey, Jelly and Day. The four of us have been catching up as much as we can. They are leaving LA after my concert.
The barista was all smiles at me. I probably went there frequently.
"My favourite customer is back," he said. "How long has it been? Three weeks I think. You want yours and your lady's usual, I suppose."
"Wait what are our usuals?" I asked honestly. "I have been on an accident and forgot some things."
"Oh. I am sorry to hear about your accident but I am glad you are now okay. Don't worry your memory will be back. Yours is a grande, iced, non-fat, chai tea latte. While for your lady is just a tall brewed coffee."
"So mine has not changed. I will order my usual only."
"Okay then."
"Because my lady is probably in Paris having her brewed coffee with her new chérie d'amour."
"What was that?"
"Oh it's nothing. I was just thinking out loud."
What Ali said earlier really bothered me. Is Stevie really waiting for me? If so, why would she break us up? But what if Stevie has found another? How can I get through another heartbreak now that my feelings for her are shaking me up?
I brought out my phone hoping to find the answers.
"Hi Stevie, can we talk? I have to tell you about the dream I had before I woke up at the hospital." I typed in and pressed 'Send.'
