22. That time we let go (They said)

After the fiasco I created, they are firm on rescheduling my world tour for next year or until further notice. They are also deciding on the fate of Kristen, my wife.

"I wish you are here, man. You would know what to do best," I sent a text to Danny as I sat with Pab execs for an emergency meeting. He was not allowed in.

"Ally should file a divorce soon saying she and Kristen rushed things," Mercedes said. "And if they find themselves ready, Ally could pop the question again."

"Not gonna work," Delphine countered. "It's the cliche of divorce."

"What about get a divorce because Kristen cheated on Ally," Felix said.

"It's a bad idea," I found myself speaking up. "She will be scarred for life."

"Do you know what's a bad idea? Drunk proposing marriage to a drunk person," Delphine said. It was a cheap shot but I deserved it.

"I say continue with the romance. Ally has broken up with her girlfriend when she met Kristen on a concert. Ally invited Kristen to Vegas and they got married. Kristen seems to like Ally anyway. Then get a divorce when the issue silences down," Alex said.

"In the mean time, Ally should not be seen with other women. It seems tough for Ally don't you think?" Delphine answered--another slap on my face.

"Ally is it okay? I think it is the best option that we've got," Mercedes asked me.

"If this okay with Kristen, it is okay with me too."

Stevie was just there. She has the final say on things--but this time she had not said anything.

Delphine adjourned the meeting. I tried approaching Stevie but Mercedes stopped me.

"Not now, kid," Mercedes said.

"Oh okay," I responded.

"Do you want to come with me and talk to Kristen instead?"

"Yeah sure."

I have been asking Stevie's forgiveness for the past days--I've sent a million messages, called her at least ten times a day and waited for her in the parking everyday. But she has managed to avoid me. I also do not know where she stays--Granny, our friends and even my Mom would not tell me.

I was just trying to be brave by sitting on that meeting. I was the one who pitched to Alex the idea of not going through the divorce.

"I know it was you," Delphine said as the meeting was adjourned. "Alex will vote for the divorce. She ships you and Ally since the beginning, even more than Stevie and Delphine. Ha-ha."

"But it is the best option Ally got," I replied. "How could people believe in her and her songs about love if she herself does not seem to get it?"

"Don't you think Ally could decide on her own?"

"I can't trust her judgment right now especially when the stakes are this high."

"You are afraid that she will not sacrifice you."

I did not know what to say further. Sacrifices had to be made.

So Kristen and I agreed to pretend in the meantime. She said she had wanted to be an actress since she was a child but ended up being a corporate banker. But more than anything, she also wanted to get back at her ex.
