The English Project

Chapter 1

I dragged myself out of bed, had a quick shower then changed and ran downstairs to the kitchen.

"Morning!" I said as I entered the kitchen.

"Good morning! Honey!" Mom said with her warm smile.

"Where's the gang?" I asked as I sat on one of the stools.

"Stop! calling your brother and sister a gang!" she chuckled.

"But they're a gang" I shrugged.

"Whatever, take!" she put a plate of pancakes in front of me.

"Mom, I'm on diet!" I pushed the plate away.

"But you have to eat!" She rolled her eyes.

"I'll just take an apple" I took an apple then ran out of the kitchen.

"Bye Mom!" I said as I left the house.

I made my way to my car and just before I slid in Zac called me.

"Morning!" He smiled.

"Morning!" I smiled back.

Zac is my best friend and the only person on earth who knows what happened in England before we moved here three years ago and what still happens, Zac is actually the only boy that dad has no problem with, dad is a bit over protective but not in the worried way more like in the controlling way especially with me because I know everything he did and still does back to Zac, dad has no problem with him for some reasons: One he lives across the street so he'll be able to watch us, two he's three years older than me and a uni student, three dad thinks I like him and he doesn't feel the same way and that's mainly the reason.

"How's everything?" Zac asked.

"Great! How's everything with Em?" I winked.

"If your dad saw that he'll think you are flirting with me" He chuckled.

"Don't change the subject!" I put my hands on my hips "How's everything with Em?"

"Everything is great and I'm the only person who calls her Em"

"Whatever" I rolled my eyes "I have to go! You need a ride?" I asked as I slide in the driver's seat.

"No, See ya!" He said before walking towards his house.

"See ya!" I said and drove off.

After about five minutes I reached school, I parked my car and moved towards the building.

"Hey!" James said as he walked next to me.

"Hi!" I forced a smile.

"I was thinking if you can go out for dinner with me? like a date?" He asked.

"Sorry, James I can't"

"No, It's okay. I understand" He scratched his neck "So, I'll see you around, I guess"

"Yeah!"

"See ya!" He waved before walking away.

James is the basketball team captain, he's been asking me out for the last year and I've been rejecting him but God! he doesn't get bored, He's funny, nice and really handsome but he's also a player plus the fact that I don't wanna be with any of these boys I just want a normal boy not the popular arrogant ones. Weird I know!

I made my way to my locker, then made my way to my first period Algebra, I reached the class room and took my seat then Mia my friend took the seat next to me.

"Hey!" She greeted.

Before I could answer her the teacher came and began talking about some algebraic rules that we've to memorize and as usual I zoned out.

The rest of the day passed normally and before I knew it I was sitting in the classroom of my last period English. Don't laugh at me but English is actually my favorite.

Mr. Nelson started the class and after finishing he began talking about some project

"This is a project I've always done with my twelve graders and it has 50% of your grades"

50%?

"The project is that you'll have to hang out with your partners for minimum once a week and each one of you will write an essay about the other one saying what his first impression was and if it was right or if he misjudged" Mr. Nelson explained.

That doesn't sound bad.

"And of course I'll need pictures of you while hanging out together as a proof and you can put videos too" He continued

Rachel raised her hand.

"Yes! Rachel!" Mr. Nelson said.

"Do we choose our partners ?" Rachel asked.

"Of course, Not! I've already chose them! I don't want you to hang out with people you already know!"

"Are you trying to hook people up?" Someone shouted from the end of the room, I turned around to see no one other than Jack Adams the football team captain and also the school biggest player.

"Excuse me! Mr. Adams!" Mr. Nelson raised his eyebrows.

"You heard me!" Jack smirked.

"Detention after school!"

"All I needed!" Jack leaned his head back in his chair and groaned.

"Back to the project!" Mr. Nelson said bringing our attention back to him.

"Your Partners are..." He opened his file "Rachel White with Jack Adams!" He continued, Rachel's jaw dropped and Jack just smirked.

"Diana Williams with Alex Black, William Edward with Janet Drew" He kept going till he finally got to my name.

"And Finally Sara Parker with Nick Blake"

(A/N) : This is just an intro chapter and I honestly hate writing the intro chapters
