-In honor of 5sos's 4th year-
I held my head high as we made our way into the office of Dr. Warbro. We all sat down. My mother on my left and Luke on my right.
"Hello Ms. Jameson. I am truly sorry for two reasons. One: about the tumor. And two: your doctor diagnosed you wrong. You do not have Glioblastoma but an Arachnoid Cyst." Dr. Warbo said sadly.
"Will I still need surgery?" I questioned nervously.
"Yes. I'm sorry." Dr. Warbo said. He then went on to explain what my cyst was and all this other stuff. I ignored him and focused on my breathing and what I needed to get done.
"Any questions?" He asked.
"Yes. Can I postpone the surgery?" I asked. I felt Luke and my mother stiffen.
"Yes. You may but it will complicate things and-"
I cut Dr. Warbo off. "I'd like to postpone it please."
"Um-" Dr. Warbo looked at my mother and then at Luke.
"No! Alice don't do it." Luke muttered.
"It's my decision. I want to." I said sadly.
"No!" Luke argued.
"Luke it's not your decision. It's mine." I countered. I hated hurting him but it was my choice.
"Don't listen to her." Luke growled to the doctor. Oh no he didn't.
"He has too! ITS MY BRAIN TUMOR!" I hissed.
"I'm not listening to this!" Luke yelled storming out.
My mother smiled sadly at me. "You go after Luke and go to the house. I'll tell everyone and finish up here, okay?"
I nodded sadly at my mom and hugged her tightly. I felt awful but I knew what had to be done.
I made my way outside. The sun made me go blind for a second but I was able to squint my way to Luke's car. I got in quickly and dropped my head. As we drive Luke spoke up.
"Ali-" Luke begged.
"Don't." I whispered. My mind was set and I didn't need him changing it.
"Please." His voice was hoarse.
"No." I replied firmly.
"Ali-" Luke growled.
"NO LUKE!" I yelled. I pressed my palms to my head. "It is not your decision! This is my life. Sometimes I need to worry about what is best for me. I love-"
"NO! If you loved me you would postpone the surgery. I can't do this! I can't be in a relationship if the outcome is death!" Luke cried.
"The doctor said-" I started.
"WHO CARES WHAT HE SAID! YOU MIGHT NOT REMEMBER ANYTHING! HOW CAN SPEND ANOTHER MONTH WITH YOU WHEN YOU WONT REMEMBER IT!" Luke yelled angrily. The car stopped abruptly and I noticed we were here.
"Luke." I whispered.
"No! They will all hate you for this." He seethed opening the car door.
This hurt me because there was truth behind his words. And that scared me.
We made our way to the house and I really wanted to cry. Luke was right: they could possibly hate me.
"SHE POSTPONED THE SURGERY!" Luke screamed walking in the door.
"What?" Ashton asked, his head shooting up. Everyones heads shot up.
Aria was sitting on Michael with her feet on Ashton's lap, Calum and Liana were snuggling.
"Is this true?" Aria asked softly.
"Yeah." I replied. Then I went out in full detail to explain why I had made my decision and how I was afraid and whatnot.
"Oh baby." Liana sniffled.
Fear coursed through me. Nobody had taken my side.
"See!" Luke seethed.
"No! This is my decision!" I cried out.
"Fine! Anyone that agrees with Alice get up and leave because you are not welcome in this house." Luke growled.
Technically Liana and I were the only ones that didn't live here.
"Whats your favorite color?" Aria asked suddenly.
"Aria, thats irrel-" Luke started.
"Luke shut up." Aria snapped.
"Royal blue." I muttered.
Aria made her way across the room and pulled out a royal blue sharpie. On her arm she wrote: blue for Alice.
"This is a nice color." She said admiring her arm.
"Aria you realize-" Luke growled.
"Yeah. I am no longer allowed back in the house. Yeah I got that but your being an idiot and she is my best friend and I support her no matter what." Aria flipped her hair and walked over to me.
"Me too. Ari pass me the pen." Liana followed what Aria did and stood next to me.
"GET OUT!" Luke screamed. "YOU ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO SEE ANYONE IN THIS HOUSE AGAIN!"
And with that we were shoved out the front door. Aria started to silently cry.
"Ari you can stay in the guest room and Lia if you want you can too." I said softly.
"Haha it will be like a giant sleepover." She smiled softly. "I'm in."
"Me too." Lia smiled throwing her arm around Aria. "Lets go."
As we made our way down the steps Aria turned and screamed, "I'M KEEPING THE PEN, YOU JERK!"
And she did.
