Have you ever had a night so magical and surreal you would've never thought it was real? That was last night for me. Oliver and I had stayed on the hill talking about the most random things until two in the morning. By then my friends had already left causing Oliver to have to drive me back to the house. Not that I was complaining. I could've talked to him forever. My thoughts were quickly interupted by the sound of Scarlett and Alice barging into my room.
"Give us all the details!" Alice yelled as they jumped onto my bed.
"You know a good morning would be nice." I said, sitting up on my bed.
"Who cares about that? We all know you're dying to tell us so, spill." Scarlett said.
"Alright, well his name's Oliver." I smiled at the thought of him.
"Even his name is cute!" Scarlett said, excitedly.
"He is honestly just amazing. We talked about the most random things for hours and hours until we were too tired to speak."
"Where does he live?" Alice asked.
"He's visiting his dad for the summer. His dad lives a few houses down."
"Well then what are you doing here? You should be over at his house right now." Alice said.
"Wouldn't that be rude? He didn't invite me." I said.
"I'm pretty sure he would be more than happy to have you go see him. It's more than obvious that he has an interest in you." Alice said.
"Yea. If he didn't he wouldn't have randomly gone up to you on the hill last night." Scarlett said.
"I guess I'll go see if he's doing anything, but if this turns out horribly wrong I'm blaming it all on you guys." I say as I jump out of bed and start picking out my outfit for the day.
"I told you! You owe me ten dollars." Alice said to Scarlett.
"Wait, you guys bet on me going to see Oliver?"
"I didn't think you would go, but Alice here was certain that you would. So, we decided to have some fun and make a bet out of it." Scarlett said.
"I can't believe you two." I said, amazed at my friends. Sometimes I seriously question why I'm friends with them.

I fiddled with the necklace sitting around my neck as I stood outside Oliver's house and contemplated ringing the door bell. 'Come on Mia, you can do this.' I thought to myself, but still couldn't bring myself to ring the bell. After standing on their doorstep for a couple of minutes I finally got the courage and rang the door bell as quickly as possible. I quickly regretted my decision and started to walk down their front steps in an attempt to leave, but was stopped by an unfamiliar voice.
"Hi, may I help you with something?" an unfamiliar man said once he opened the door. He looked like a replica of Oliver except his eyes were hazel.
"Hi, um I was wondering if Oliver was home?"
"Actually he is. What's your name?" He said with a surprised look on his face. It was as if no one had ever come looking for Oliver before, which was weird because I'm sure he has girls all over him.
"Oh, sorry my name's Mia. I'm assuming you're Mr. Evans." I introduced myself.
"Yes, I'm Mr. Evans, but you can call me James. Mr. Evans makes me feel too old. Well, come on in I'll go get Oliver for you." James smiled and let me in. As soon as I walked in I was met with the living room which had a wall of windows. It was absolutely stunning.
"You can sit down. Would you like something to drink?"
"Oh no it's fine, but thank you." I smiled as I sat on one of the couches.
"No problem. Oliver, there's someone here for you!" James yelled up the stairs.
"Who's here- oh hi Mia." Oliver says as he descends from the stairway, a blush creeping onto his cheeks. He ruffles his already messy hair as he walks towards me.
"Hi Oliver." I smile. We stare at each other for a while until I realize I still haven't told him why I'm sitting in his living room.
"Um, well I just came because I was wondering if you wanted to go do something." I asked, hoping he would say yes.
"Sure, let's go." Oliver says and walks towards the door. I follow him outside and a wave of silence comes over us. We walk along the pathway leading to the lake until Oliver breaks the silence.
"So, Mia Grace what do you have planned for us today?" He smiles down at me.
"I actually have nothing planned. I wasn't expecting you to agree." I admit timidly.
"I would never pass up on spending time with you." A blush creeps onto my face as the words leave his mouth.
"Come with me." He says as he grabs my hand and pulls me into an opening in the bushes and trees. We walk on the hidden path for about five minutes until we finally make it into an opening and I cannot believe what I see. In the middle of the opening is another lake full of crystal clear water and the opening is not just dirt and dried up grass. It's full of beautiful green grass and colorful flowers.
"This is amazing! How did you find this place?" I ask as I walk around and admire the beauty.
"When I was younger and my parents were still together, we would come to our lake house every year. Eventually my parents started fighting and I just needed a place to escape. One day I couldn't handle listening to the fights anymore and I ran out desperately trying to find somewhere to be. I ended up finding this place and ever since then I've been coming here. You're the first person I've brought here." He said, looking into my eyes. I smiled at him, speechless at the story he had just told me.
"I'm sorry about your parents, but at least you found this place because of it."
"Don't worry about them they're better off without each other. Are you going to get in?"
"I wish I could, but I'm not wearing a bathing suit." As I said this a mischievous look came onto Oliver's face. Before I could think I was being carried in his arms as he ran towards the lake.
"Oliver!" I yelled, but before I could protest, I was being thrown into the crystal clear water. I resurfaced and put my acting skills to the test.
"Ouch, Oliver I think I'm hurt. Can you help me get out of the water?" Oliver instantly looked at me with a look of regret and guilt and stretched his hand out for me to hold. I grasped his hand, but instead of getting out of the water I pulled him into the lake with me. He landed into the water with a splash and soon resurfaced, a startled look on his face.
"Oh you're gonna get it." He warned coming closer and closer to me. I attempted to swim away from him, but of course I wasn't fast enough and resorted to splashing him in the face. Soon my simple splash turned into a splash war and before we knew it we were drenched. Once we'd had enough splashing we emerged from the water and laid on the green grass surrounding the lake.
"Mia Grace, tell me what you see when you look at that cloud." he pointed at a small cloud floating above us.
"Um, I see a heart"
"Usually, I would see nothing but a cloud. Just another cloud coming to cover the only source of light in my life, the sun. But, today I see a heart. And today I am happy."
