The cashier wasn't very intimidating. He seemed worrisome. His expression showed much nervousness, and he began to flutter his eyes at Brandon.
He then turned his body to face Violet, mumbling softly.
"Take me with you guys."
Violet, Brandon and I all turned to face each other, wearing the same expression of confusion. She then turned back to the Cashier, James, and arched an eyebrow.
"Huh?"
"I won't make you pay for your stuff," he glanced at Brandon. "Just get me out of this fucking store."
With those words, Violet's curiosity began to kick in. The shorter male grinned as Violet gave a swift nod, Brandon arched his eyebrow, and I widened my eyes.
James tossed his apron over his body and allowed it to land on the mat he stood upon. We quickly left the store with our unpaid for stuff, a shout of James' name being heard behind us as we approached the car.
The group quickly got inside of the car and each of us strapped ourselves into our seats. Brandon and James had sat in the back seat, Violet driving and myself in passenger.
James continuously glanced out the back window as we left the store.
"Okay, what the fuck was that? Who are you, and where are we taking you?"
I was supposed to see Edward today. That only now occurred to me.
"I'm James, and groceries aren't the only thing I bag."
I was puzzled. Violet even snorted, which made me giggle, because she was quick to cover her mouth and chuckle, in just as much shock as I was.
"Fruity Pebbles, Coral Cannabis, Bloodshot, ever hear of any of those?" James' accent was somewhat thick.
My expression brightened quickly, and I turned to face him, immediately.
"You're the colour dealer? The fucking big dude that, like, everybody talks about?"
He nodded, as if it was a common question he was asked.
Brandon and I began to flip. Like, squeal in our seats and laugh, flip.
"Dude," Brandon turned to face James. "Puke and I get the best highs off of your stuff. Like, it's amazing. How do you do it?"
"A magician never tells his secret."
Violet was silent for a minute. I glanced over at her, my eyebrows furrowing as I slid my hand onto her thigh. "You okay?"
"Just surprised. I got high for the first time last night and don't get any of this." She nodded, moving one of her hands over my own.
Our fingers laced.
"Mate, if you're gonna finger her, get a room."
As always, Brandon had ruined the moment, but I noticed James couldn't quite keep his eyes off of him. The lair were on their phones the full hour and a half it took to get back into London.
"Hey, Luke?"
"Yeah?" I squeezed her hand, which I was still holding.
"Mind if I stay at your house for the day, maybe spend the night? My father will be fuckin' mad if I were to show up today. He always says to wait and I just- Please?" She glanced between me and the road.
