LUCY POV

Michael didn't come to school the next few weeks and it was upsetting me. The closer the days got to graduation, the less he spoke to me. I still hoped he would come today, we all graduated tomorrow. It'd had been a goal of Michael and I's to finish school together. We've known since year 10 that we were going to struggle, but we vowed to each other that we would suffer through and finish, and not back out. I hoped he hadn't broke that promise.

Our classes were pretty much one giant day of doing nothing, which made no sense. What was the point of going to school if we weren't going to do anything? Maddy and I talked the whole time about random things, colleges we were applying for, vacations we're going to take.

"I don't even know what kind of job I want." Maddy said after a while of silence between us.

"Me either. I may just end up majoring in forensics for a while and end up switching, who knows?" I answered. We both knew we wanted to go to a school in New York, living that part of the American Dream first.

"Are you going to Zach's grad party tomorrow night?"

"Maybe, I haven't decided yet. I might just sleep and find a college to apply to."

"I might join you."

"Do you think Michael's going to be there tomorrow?"

"I honestly don't know. He hasn't told me anything about why he wasn't coming."

Maddy came over that night so we could discuss college things, tuition, visas, all that jazz.

" Are we allowed to talk colleges in other states besides New York?" I asked, she was in the kitchen looking for food. I knew she wasn't going to find anything,  I barely ate anything at my house, usually eating at Michael's or visiting my mum from time to time. She used to work at a small corporation in a town not far from here, then getting promoted to a building in the city of Sydney. I didn't want to move away from Maddy and Michael, so ultimately, mum let me stay in my own house, near Maddy.

"Can we order like chinese or something?" Maddy asked, completely ignoring my question.

"Fast food is gross."

"Can we get Panera then?"

"Can I stay here?"

"Well what do you want to eat?"

"I honestly do not care, just bring me back food please."

Twenty minutes after she left, I got a text from Ashton.

Ashton:) :  hey waddya up to?

Lucy-loo: not much just waiting on maddy to bring back food and looking for colleges to apply to
