MICHAEL POV

I scrolled through my twitter feed, favoriting tweets and following some fans. I was bored and hadn't talked to Lucy in a long time. So I dmed her, in hopes that she'd reply.

michael5sos: hiya buddy can we skype

lucyloo22: michael!!! i havent talked to you in like 80 years yes pls!!

michael5sos: I'll call u in 5 okay?

I was so excited, of course, I hadn't seen her since she left, which was about two months ago. I typed in the information on the login screen and looked for Lucy among the many contacts I had. I pressed the call button and I was faced with the ceiling fan.

"Luuuuuuuuuucy," I called. She appeared in the frame a few seconds later, her hair in a bun, dressed in a cami with a flannel over it.

" Your hair!" She pointed to the screen and I smiled and nodded, running a hand over it to smooth it out. I had just dyed it blue recently.

"Yeah, it was a fan's idea, I thought'd be pretty cool." She smiled then walking into another room.

"So what've you been up to lately?" She asked, no longer looking at me, but at something else in the room.

"We're on our last leg of the tour, and we'll actually be home for a while next week!" I caught her attention then and the biggest smile grew on her face.

" Really?! I haven't hugged you in so long! I'm excited!"

"I'm excited to see you too! We're staying home to visit with family for about two months, and then we're going back to Europe to write. Oh! You should come with us that would be so fun!" I gushed. I really missed Lucy and doing all the weird things we would do together. Running around way past curfew, riding bikes around the neighbourhood and trying to do cool things on them. Oh, the nostalgia.

"That would be fun," She laughed a bit, and I heard another person. in the background. "Yeah, mum!" She yelled, "Hold on a sec, please," She smiled at me and the set the phone down and I was faced again, with the white ceiling. I would hope Lucy would let me see her mum again, being that I haven't seen her since Lucy and I were mere teenagers. Her mum thought I was such trouble when she had lived with us the first few years, but grew more comfortable when Lucy was on her own.

"Okay, hi, I'm back," She breathed. "We had to lift some heavy boxes."

"So, are you or are you not going to introduce me to your mum again?" I raised a brow and she smacked her hand against her forehead.

"Yeah, hold on a bit." She set down her phone again.

"Who're you talking to?" Calum asked. I turned around to face him and I put my phone down on the table next to me.

"Lucy, why?"

"Soundcheck starts in twenty, we didn't want you to be late like always."

"Okay, it's not my fault they provide good food, and by good food I mean pizza, and no one eats it until after sound check. Like it's just sitting dying to be eaten an-"

"Michael, if I could kindly ask you to shut the hell up, no one really wants to hear about your pizza fetish. " He said, and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, I'll be there soon." I waved him off and turned back to see Lucy walking throughout the house.

"Hi Mrs. Johannsen!" I waved and smiled at her once she came into view.

"Hi Michael, it's nice to see you."

"You too." She left the frame and I pouted a bit. Lucy sat down in the middle of a room with walls painted abstract colors, a room I didn't recognize.

"Where are you at?" I asked. She was sitting straight up, rather than slouching back into a chair.

"Piano room. Currently sitting at the piano."

"You play?"

"Heck yeah I do."

"Play for me."

"I can't, I broke all my fingers this morning."

"No you didn't. Come on, pleaaaaaase."

"Fine. " She hit one note and I knew then exactly what she was going to play. "Oh, god, don't you fucking dare play that. It brings out my inner emo." She continued to play the next three notes, giving me a smirk.

"Sing with me," She said, playing the last seven. "Whatever," I commented.

"When I was a young boy, my father took me into the city, to see a marching band." I began.

"He said, 'son when you grow up, would you be the savior of the broken, the beaten and the damned?'"She sang next.

"He said, ' will you, defeat them, your demons, and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made?'"

"Because one day, I'll leave you, a phantom to lead you in the summer, to join the Black Parade.'" We sang together, and she stopped at that point, slouching her shoulders.

"That's all I know at the moment, I'm still learning." She shrugged.

"It's alright, I have to leave soon anyways for soundcheck."

"Why didn't you say anything earlier, ugh," She rolled her eyes at me.

"Because,"

"Alright, I guess I'll hang up on you now. Love you, good luck tonight."

"Love you too." We waved goodbye to each other and she hung up. I still had about four minutes until soundcheck started and the boys would think it to be pretty remarkable if I showed up on time.

"Woah man, Michael is here twenty minutes before he usually is. Not on time, but still."

"Bullies." I pouted, taking my guitar strap and putting it over my shoulder.

"Oh, you'll be fine for another two days. Just tonight, and another concert tomorrow and then Wednesday we'll be on the plane home." Luke said squeezing my shoulders and pushing me out to the stage.

"Lucy's gonna be in for a surprise."
