LUCY POV

I was sat in my bed at the moment, it well past midnight. I had been out adventuring around the city all day, and it was now time to relax and talk to friends.

mikey: ive got a surprise for u

lucy: oh really omg im so excited

mikey: it'll be here friday ok! ull get ur surprise at 1pm

lucy: okay??ty ig

mikey: yw just go 2 bed and ill see u tomm

lucy: no mom i am my own person i dont need u

mikey: hush

I put my phone on the charger just then, rolling over to face the wall. I was dead tired from a long day of walking and being weird with Jakob. But I kept myself up thinking about what my surprise could be.

It was probably some kind of merch, either his or a band he knows I like. Maybe some tickets to a show we may go to in the future. Honestly, the best thing would be to have any kind of merch. Or Michael in person. I closed my eyes, dreaming of what would appear at my doorstep in the next two days.

"Calum, what the hell is this?" I ask, seeing billions of flowers everywhere.

"I felt I needed to right all the wrongs I did to you, walk farther. " He smiled, and guided me to the living room, where all the furniture was pushed back, the flowers shifting from ones with stems to just petals, going into a circle where they spelled out 'Date on Friday?'

"Um, really?" I turned to him with a confused look. He nodded, looking a little disappointed. "I mean I guess so, we've been on good terms. But I can't promise this will fix things Calum. You tore me apart."  I rubbed my face with my hands. I was getting upset and knew that tears would come soon. He placed his hands on my shoulders, rubbing them comfortingly, but it wasn't, and I collapsed to the floor, head leaning against the sofa, legs crushing the beautiful petals. Calum sat in front of me, and hugged me to him.

"Shh, Lucy, please stop crying. I hate seeing you upset. It used to make me angry, knowing I caused you pain, so I took the anger out on you. It was an endless cycle. I'm sorry, and I know I won't be able to fix it the right way. But I can at least try." I squeezed my eyes shut tighter with every word he spoke, rubbing the back of my neck with force, curling myself into a ball. "Lucy," He breathed, removing my hands, replacing them with his own and lifting my head to look at him.

My eyes shot open. It was Thursday and I was determined to get my mind off that dream. Yes, Calum and I were friends, but I swear, it will never go any farther than that.

I was going to meet Jakob again today in the city, continuing our adventure from yesterday. I was dressed in a pair of black high waisted shorts and a white v-neck, a pair of gladiator looking sandals to match. I liked simple outfits quite a lot, the more simple, the more comfortable.

"I plan on getting your mind off everything imaginable today, even if it involves drinking." He said to me once I stepped out of my car.

"It's not going to involve drinking, I'm a little past that. I don't drink to make myself feel better. I drink to have fun. Plus I have to be up by a certain time, according to Mikey." We began to walk the streets, and he slung his arm around my waist.

"Are we going to do any kind of shopping today? I'm in bit of a need of t-shirts."

"No, we'll just be walking around and stuff. And wait for your surprise tomorrow before you buy anything, you'll love it."

"You already know what it is?!"

"Yeah, Michael told me." He smiled at me and I pouted. I disliked knowing there was a surprise, but I liked getting surprises without knowing about them.

"Losers." I mumbled.

We had been walking around Sydney for about three hours before resting and eating at a resturaunt. I turned on my phone once we sat down at a booth.

"How many texts do you have?" Jakob asked, poking me in the arm.

"None, just snapchats, actually." I said, poking him back.

"Wow, that's way more than I have. Zero."

"Yeah, Cal, your sister, and Michael." I shrugged and sent Michael and Maddy one back saying hi, but Calum's caught my eye.

cal: when we get back u wanna hang

lucy: idk ig

cal: wyd now

lucy: at a resturaunt w jakob

cal: oooh

lucy: yeah idk its weird like he's being like mushy

cal: so its a date

lucy: no idk how to date i suck @ it

cal: if u go to a movie w me ill show you

lucy: that was so smooth i might consider

Jakob laughed when I showed him the conversation, and nudged me with his shoulder.

"Mmm, girl, you got all the boys."

"Hahahaha, that's so funny. No."

"Why can't you just accept that you're hot?"

"Because I am allowed to think that my face is fucking ugly because it's my fucking face."

"You just quoted Gerard Way."

"Hell yeah I did. I even played Welcome to the Black Parade with Michael over skype the other day."

"You're so emo it's sad."

"I'm emo and I'm proud." I threw my fist into the air.

"You wanna blow this popsicle stand?" He asked after a few moments.

"Yes please."

Jakob and I continued the streets, stopping in a store every now and then for some kind of cool artifact. We had walked a great deal of a way from my car and we were both dead tired and didn't know if we could make the trip back.

"There's a real fancy hotel up here by the airport, we should stay." I suggested. It wasn't more than three blocks of a walk, much easier than the thirty some block we would have to walk back to my car.

"NO!" He yelled.

"Why the hell not? I'd rather sleep in a nice hotel room than pass out on the way back to the car."

"Whatever. Just- nevermind, just follow me and don't worry about anyone else okay?" He began to walk that way, holding my wrist in his hand. I gave him weird looks every step closer to the hotel, not knowing what was going on.

"Don't question me please, its for your own good."
