Chapter 9: New Foe

I just woke up from my nap when I noticed the doctor. She came in to talk to me and check on how I'm feeling.

"Hello Kat. How are we doing?"

"I'm alright... I just want to get out of here and go home. I want to forget about what happened."

"Well I have good news for you. If you promise to stay for about another week or so to go to physical therapy you can go home after its done. All you need to do is just let us help you get better and you need to keep your energy up. Oh and by the way  someone sent you flowers. I'll have your nurse bring them in to you right away then I'll be back in a hour to check on you."  

I turned my head in confusion trying to think think who could of sent me flowers... then it came to me and I smiled hoping it would may be from Andy. I really do miss my baby and I do wish him and Sadie would come visit me just for a few minutes. I'd be super happy with even a simple "Hey, how's it going?". Just about anything to boost my spirtits a little. I'm getting so lonely and to make it worse, I will be leaving soon and leaving the two behind will be hard.

The nurse walked in and set the flowers down on the side table.

 "Here you go honey. Oh I just noticed that there is a card on the vase. Want me to read it to you?"

I shook my head and looked down at my blanket.

"Dear Kat, I really can't bring myself to say this especially after everything you have gone through but.... you know Kat dear, maybe I can read this to you later when your feeling better and not so upset.." 

I slammed my hands on my lap.

"NO READ IT NOW!! WHAT DOES IT SAY?!"

The nurse jumped.

"Alright I warned you honey... now where did i leave off? Oh yes... here it is. Forgive me deary I'm old." 

She cleared her throat before continuing. 

"I'm breaking up with you. I know this may be hard but I'm moving on. It's not you... it's me. Well actually, it is you but you're a pretty girl you can find someone new kinda quickly. Oh yeah and Sadie is now my girlfriend. Good luck with everything in the hospital and feel better soon.... honey I'm sorry he seems like a real ass. Are you Okay? Do you need something?"

Holding the tears back I screamed get out. When she left I broke down crying. Seriously, WHY me? Why now? Especially why Sadie? I mean why leave me for my best friend? Now to come to think of it I'm happy to leave. I want nothing more then to move far away.

I layed down and looked at the flowers. I picked them up and threw them as hard as I could the vase smashed against the wall and the nurses came running in quickly. 

"Whats wrong Kat? Oh how did that break? Are you Okay? Did something happen to you? Do you need me to call your aunt? She stepped out briefly to go get some coffee and food."

I rolled over and looked at the wall. I didn't want to deal with the right now. 

She hurries over to the open window. 

"Okay well I'll say it was the wind that broke the vase." 

She walked to the window and closed it. 

"Bad window bad bad window. How dare you and don't make me put you in a time out." 

She giggled and looked at me.

"There now that big mean wind won't bother you."

She quickly cleaned up the broken glass and walked out.
