My phone rings, waking me up. I look and see that it's Austin. I answer it.
"I'm asleep." I say.
"Clearly you're not because you're talking to me."
"I'm sleep talking to you." I explain.
"Oh really?" He says.
"What do you want?" I ask.
"I wanted to know if you are coming over soon?"
"Actually I think I'm going college shopping with Dad today." I say.
"Okay, you want to come over after that?"
"Yeah, I'll come over." I say.
"Okay. I'll see you later then."
"Okay."
"Love you."
"Love you two. And next time wait till you know I'm up to call me."
"Rude." He says.
I just hang up on him and go back to sleep.

I wake up for the second time and start getting ready for the day. I put my glasses on today instead of my contacts. Theres a knock on my door as I'm putting my hair up in a bun.
"Come in." I say.
Dad comes in.
"Ready to go?" He asks.
"Yeah." I say.
I grab my purse and phone and head downstairs. We get in Dads car and head off.
"Where to first?" Dad asks.
"Hmmm...Bed Bath and Beyond?" I ask.
"Sounds good to me."
So we head there and shop around for things. We actually end up getting most of the things I need plus some other things that I want. Next we go to target and get the rest of my stuff there. We get home and put all my stuff upstairs.
"Thanks Daddy!" I say, hugging him.
"No problem sweetie, I'm proud of you."
I smile.
"Okay I'm going over to Austin's now." I say.
"Okay, if you end up spending the night text me please."
I nod then head out the door and to my car. I get to Austin's house and get out, then go inside. It's quiet, too quiet.
"Austin?!" I yell.
Then all of the sudden the boys jump out and start pelting me with nerf gun pellets. I try to block them with my hands, but of course it doesn't work.
"Stop!" I yell.
They all lower their guns and stop shooting.
"What a pleasant way to be greeted. Let me guess, Austin's idea?"
"How did you know?" Austin asks.
"Because I was rude to you this morning and I knew you would find a way to get me back." I say.
"You're so smart." Austin says.
"No I just know you that well."
"But you're still smart."
"Okay...thanks."
The boys go off to do their own things. Austin comes up to me and wraps his arms around my neck in a hug.
"I haven't seen you all day!" He points out.
"Oh no it's a tragedy! You're gonna die!" I say dramatically.
"Yes I would have, if you hadn't of come when you did." He says.
I pull away.
"Whatever. You were doing fine without me."
He smiles.
"So, have fun college shopping?" He asks.
"I did, actually!"
"Did you get everything you needed?" He asks.
"And more." I say.
"Speaking of college, you never told me when you were leaving." He says.
"Two months."
"That's not far from now."
"Not too far." I say.
"I'm going to miss you like crazy but I know you'll love it. Just don't replace me."
"I would never!" I say.
"Good. I wouldn't dare replace you either." He says.
"Good." I say, mimicking him.
We go upstairs and decide to watch Full House because thats like my favorite show ever. As we are on our fourth episode the doorbell rings.
"Ooo I think that's your surprise." Austin says, removing his arm from being around me and getting up.
I get up too.
"A surprise? Please tell me you didn't buy me another expensive thing." I say.
He chuckles.
"No, just come and see for yourself." He says, grabbing my hand.
We go downstairs and I open the door. Standing there is Becky G. I've met her a few times but we haven't really talked or gotten to know each other all that much.
"Hi Becky!"
"Hey Sadie!" She says.
We both hug.
"Becky and I hung out a few times while you were back in Texas. I felt like ya'll would be good friends and should get to know each other better, so I called her over to pick you up and go out shopping or to lunch or whatever ya'll want to do." Austin tells me.
"Well that was sweet of you." I tell Austin.
"I know." He says.
"You just ruined it by saying that." I say.
"Alright girl, you ready?" Becky asks.
"Yeah lets go!" I say
"So is it okay with you if we go to the mall?" She asks, as we are driving.
"Yeah totally! Who doesn't like the mall?" I say.
"Right!" She says.
"So was it just you and Austin that hung out together while I was back in Texas?" I ask.
"Yeah, why? Are you jealous?" She asks.
"What?! No! No, I'm not..jealous." I say.
"Well you have nothing to worry about, I just think of Austin as a friend. And I know he wouldn't dream of leaving you. You were pretty much all he talked about when we hung out." She says.
"Really?" I ask.
"Yeah! You mean everything to him and I don't think he would trade you for the world." She tells me.
I smile.
"Thanks Becky."
"No problem."
So we go to the mall and shop and just get to know each other better. After a few hours of being out, Becky takes me back to Austin's house.
"Thanks for hanging out with me." I say.
"Of course! I had a blast! We will definitely need to do it again." She says.
"Definitely." I say, with a smile.
I get out and go inside the house.
"So how was it?" Austin asks, once he sees me.
"Great. I uh..understand that you and Becky hung out alone while I was in Texas." I say.
"Yeah like two times, why?"
"Just wondering why you didn't go out with her when you had the chance."
"You really want to talk about how I should have gone out with a girl when I'm going out with you?" He says.
"She's gorgeous!"
"You're even more gorgeous." He says stepping closer.
"You're just saying that."
"No, I'm not actually. It's true."
"She so sweet."
"So are you." He says, stepping even closer.
"She's everything a guy wants. So why didn't you want her?!" I ask.
"She wasn't you. When will you get it through your pretty little head that I will never give up on you. I will always love you. Nothing you can do will ever change that."
I sigh.
"I just feel bad that I tried to forget about you and move on and then you were over here waiting for me even though you weren't fully sure I would come back." I say.
"Did you hear what you just said?" He asks.
"What?"
"You TRIED to forget about me, which tells me you never did. You still cared for me and even though you didn't want to, you still had feelings for me. Stop worrying about what happened when we weren't together, that's history now. Like I've said before, all that matters is that we're together now."
I nod.
"Yeah, you're right." I say.
"When am I not?" He says.
I shake my head and smile.
"You sure do know how to ruin a meaningful moment." I tell him.
"I'm not ruining it, I'm lightening the mood." He says.
"You think you are." I say.
"No I am." He says.
He starts to walk away, still looking at me. I raise and eyebrow at him.
"Don't raise your eyebrow at me- ow!" He says.
He stubbed his toe. I laugh a bit and walk over to him.
"That's what you get for being prideful and not looking where you were going." I say.
He looks at me, holding his toe.
"Are you okay baby?"
He starts fake crying.
"Aww poor thing." I say, hugging him.
He hugs me back, then pulls away.
"Gosh stubbing a toe is the worst!" He says.
"I think you'll be okay." I say.
"No I won't, I'm gonna die!"
"You're so dramatic."
"But I'm entertaining."
"Are you though?" I say, turing around to walk away.
"Hey!"
He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me to him then spins me around to where I'm facing him and our faces are centimeters apart.
"That was smooth." I tell him.
He smirks.
"I know." Then he starts to lean in but I turn back around and start walking towards the kitchen.
"I hate when you do that!"
"I know." I say.
I get to the kitchen and look through the pantry for something to eat. I feel Austin poke me, which tickles me and I squeal and turn to him.
"You did not just do that." I say.
He smiles cheesily.
"What are your gonna do about it?" He asks.
I shift my eyes to his hat. Then I quickly reach up and grab it then run off.
"Now you regret tickling me don't you?" I say.
"You know I'm faster than you." He says.
"Prove it, come and get me." I say.
I take off and he takes off after me. We run around the house.
"I thought you said you were faster than me?" I say.
"When I catch you I am pinning you down." He says.
"Don't you mean IF you catch me?" I say.
I run up the stairs, Austin not far behind me. I'm about to turn the corner when Austin tackles me to the floor. He puts my arms above my head and literally pins me down.
"Told you." Austin says.
"How cute, you think you won." I say.
He looks at me, confused.
I push him off of me and run back downstairs. I see Austin get up and run after me again. I keep running and before I can know it I run in to Alex. I see that I just spilled his spaghetti with red sauce all over him.
I cover my mouth, trying not to laugh.
"Sadie!" He says.
"I am so sorry." I say.
"Houses are not made for running! What are you five?" He says.
"Hey! I said I was sorry."
"What happe-oh." Austin says, coming up next to me and seeing the spaghetti on Alex's shirt.
"Yeah...oh." Alex says.
"What were you guys doing?"
"I was chasing Sadie because she has my hat." Austin explains.
"And I took Austin's hat because he tickled me." I say.
"So if Austin didn't tickle you, you wouldn't have taken his hat and he wouldn't have been chasing you and you wouldn't have bumped into me."
"Right, so its Austin's fault that I bumped into you." I say.
"Hey! Don't put this on me!"
"Well it was your fault!" I say.
Austin snatches his hat back and walks upstairs, with his arms crossed and pouting.
"No come back!" I say following Austin.
"No, you hurt my feelings." He says.
"But I love you." I say.
"Uhhu sure." He says.
"Hey!" I say.
Then I wrap my arms and legs around his legs so that I'm attached to him.
"Sadie I can't move." He says.
"You can't go anywhere until you say you love me back." I say in my baby voice.
"And what if I don't?"
"Then I'll just stay attached to you forever and ever."
He looks down at me and I smile up at him. He gives me a sideways smile back.
"You are crazy...and I love you." He says.
I let go of and stand up.
"Much better." I say.
"You still hurt my feelings you know." He says, crossing his arms again.
I step closer and wrap my arms around his neck.
"I'm sorry I'm so mean to you and you can't take it." I say.
"That was not a proper apology." He says.
I step even closer, my body now against his.
"Okay, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings Austin." I say.
"If I lean in will you actually kiss me this time?" He asks.
I act like I'm thinking about it.
"I guess so." I say.
He puts his hands on my hips and pulls me as close as I can get then leans in and kisses me.
"I don't know what you'll do while I'm at college." I say.
"Probably just sit around being bored and wishing I was kissing you."
"Is that all you think about? Kissing me?"
"Every time I look at you I want to kiss you." He says.
"So that's a yes."
"Yes...is that bad?"
"No, because I feel the exact same way."
"Good to know." He says, with a smirk.
"You're going to use that against me now." I realize.
"Oh yeah." He says.
"I hate you."
"I love you too."
