The rest of the day was uneventful, I had no more classes with Charlie, but it’s not like I was looking for him. Of course not, why would I do that?

Ok, so I was looking for him, but not because I wanted to talk to him, the last time I tried that, he just showed me he was a jerk. I just wanted to see a familiar face.

I went to my locker, and put my Math book away, thankfully, since it was the first day of school, there was no homework.

Someone cleared their throat, I bet it’s Amanda. I turned around and saw…

My stepsisters.

“What do you want? I have to catch the bus.”

“Stay away from Charlie,” Dawn said,

“Yeah, stay away from him,” Anna echoed.

“He’s ours. We’ve been going after him since freshman year, and a newbie is not going to take him from us.” Dawn said, ice in her voice.

“Like I would want a jerk like him, and you do realize that there is only one of him, and two of you, right?”

“Whatever, your just jealous, because  you can’t have him.”

“If I can’t have him, then why are you here in the first place?”

“Hmph,” they both said, then turned on their heels and walked away.

“Whatever.” I said, grabbed my purse and headed toward the bus.

I got there just in time, so I took my seat and waited the ten minutes it took to get there, since I am one of the first stops.

I walked quietly inside, hoping no one would hear me, but then I noticed that Cruella De Vil’s car was gone, so I didn’t have to be as quiet as I thought.

I went straight to my room, and turned on my computer.

‘yes,’ I thought, ‘five new e-mails, one of them has to be from him.’

And it was, you see my new school has this thing for new students, they give them an e-mail buddy so they can ask questions and get answers about the school, and so they will have a friend when they show up. But my e-mail buddy never told me his name. All I know about him, is that we are in the same grade, and he is on the football, and baseball teams.

All his e-mail said was, “so how was your first day of school?”

That’s it? Well I guess he would know if he had told me his name, then I could have looked for him at school, and we would be able to meet for real.

“Fine, I guess, I made a friend, and met a real jerk, but oh well. You win some, you lose some.”

I looked at my other e-mails, three of them were junk mail, gross. But the last was from my best friend, Loraine. She went to Sea View, so I don’t get to see her very often any more, but at least we e-mail, and text, and call. You know, the usual girl stuff.

“Hey, girl, hope you had a great first day at the snob school, I bet there’s some real eye candy there, too. First day at Sea View stunk without you. All me and Tyler did was fight without you there to mediate between us. I don’t think we’ll be hanging out anymore, which means it’s time for me to move on and find some more friends.

“So what are you doing tomorrow? Let’s hit the mall.”

As far as I knew I wasn’t doing anything, so I told her that I would be there as long as Malificent didn’t have any idiotic chores up her sleeve for me.

If you haven’t noticed by now, my step mom gets stuck with all of the Disney villains I could possibly call her behind her back. So “Cruella De Vil” and “Malificent,” both refer to her.
