Because I had a ‘get out of jail free’ card, I decided it wouldn’t be so bad if I was slightly later to class.

I headed to my locker, and redid my lip gloss; you never know who you’re going to see.

I looked in my mini-mirror and realized I had a big zit, right at the edge of my bangs, it had only been revealed when I brushed my hair back.

I pulled some foundation out of a travel sized bottle, and dabbed it onto the blemish. Problem fixed.

I shut my locker door, and reached down to pick up my book bag. Next to it on the floor was a green note card. I picked it up thinking it fell out of either my locker, or one of my neighbors lockers.

No such luck.

“I think you look great today,” it said, “even with that zit, there was no reason to cover it.”

I jumped back and dropped it.

I quickly looked around, there was no one to be seen.

I grabbed my bag and ran to my class room, I knew that it had been Lance, it was obvious. I mean, who ELSE was stalking me?

I walked into Science as calmly as possible.

The first person I noticed was Lance in the first row of science tables. He smirked at me, noting my breath that was coming out in pants.

“Miss Martinez, you are late.” Mr. Smith said.

“I know, sir. I was speaking with Mrs. Brown.” I replied.

“If you were speaking with Mrs. Brown, where is your excuse note?” he asked, thinking he had trapped me into a corner.

I pulled it out of my bag, and handed it to him.

He gave it a glance and realized I hadn’t forged it.

He then grunted and motioned for me to sit.

I smirked, and sat down next to Amanda.

“Where were you?” Amanda whispered. “Mrs. Brown has a class after yours, you couldn’t have been there that long!”

I whispered back, “I’ll tell you later, ok? How about you spend the night, as long as I get my chores done and cook dinner, Tonya won’t mind. She probably won’t even realize that you’re there.”

“Sounds good, and you can tell me about your mysterious sickness,” she said, referencing the day before.

I nodded, and went back to the lesson, it was about DNA, which I already knew, so it didn’t matter that I had skipped over half of the class.

The bell rang five minutes later, and I scrambled to get out of the door, but Mr. Smith pulled me back.

“Miss Martinez, I understand your needing to speak with Mrs. Brown, but next time, try to make it before the half way point of class,” he said.

I simply nodded, and went on my way, sadly, it wasn’t fast enough, because Lance had stayed back, taking his time gathering stray pencils.

“Hey, Amanda, you got my note?” he said.

I nodded, and kept walking, he wouldn’t try anything in the middle of a crowded hallway during school hours, would he?

“Did you like it? The green was a nice touch, don’t you think?”

I shuddered and kept walking.

“I wanted to ask you why you weren’t in school yesterday, were you sick?”

I nodded.

“I was wondering, would you like to…” he never finished his sentence.

“Do you need something?” a deep voice asked.

“N-no,” Lance replied.

“Then I suggest you leave her alone. Class starts in two minutes, I suggest you scram.”

Lance nodded than turned and ran. Maybe that was the end of his stalking days, but I seriously doubted it. It would take more than a jock with a deep voice to get Lance to stop.

I turned around to face the stranger and saw that it was Charlie.

“Thank you,” I said.

“No problem, the guys a jerk who stalks teenage girls. I wasn’t surprised when I saw him hanging around, you seemed like fresh meat.”

“Thanks, now you’re making me feel like a cow,” I said.

He looked me up and down, “Trust me, you are anything but that,”

I raised my eyebrows at him, then rolled my eyes. The guy was a creepy as Lance, maybe even worse. The thing was, if Charlie could scare Lance, then who could scare Charlie?

It wasn’t a very long list, at the top was Chuck Norris, then Jackie Chan, after that, the list died down immensely.

I turned to leave.

“Wait,” he said. “I think we got off on the wrong foot, my names Charlie, and yours is?”

“Elizabeth, but most people call me Elle,” I told him.

“Elle, what a pretty name,” Charlie said.

“I said MOST people call me Elle, that doesn’t include you,” I said, peeved at the stalkerish way that he said my name.

He raised his hands in surrender, “Sorry, Elizabeth,” he said, emphasizing my name.

“Offence forgiven, just don’t let it happen again,” I said, and made my way to my locker.

“Wait up,” he said. “At least let me walk you to class.”

I sighed, “Sure, why not? Just let me get some stuff from my locker.”

He nodded, and I grabbed my math book, and glanced in the mirror. My lip gloss was smudged already. Note to Self, buy better lip gloss.

I dabbed on a little extra, and closed my locker.

“Ready?” he asked.

I nodded, and he motioned for me to come with him.

Hey! I'm back! I'm really sorry it took me so long, I was dealing with a lot. My uploads will be kindof sporadic until the end of May, but from June until August, I should be pretty much back to my old schedule, but I may have to tweak it, since I now have three stories on here instead of two. I'll let you know. I'm thinking about changing it so I update every other week day, but that could get really hectic and difficult. So I'm not sure.

I just wanted to say 'thank you' for sticking with me, even when I practically drpped off the face of the planet. And also a big thank you for understanding why I couldn't upload, it was all just too much. My grandma died in August, and then a few days after Christmas my grandpa died. It was really difficult, especially since my grandma was a big supporter of everything I did, including my writing, so every time I sat down to write, it always brought up memories of her. It didn't help that when she died, we weren't exactly on good terms, so that just made everyhting worse.

I really hope you enjoyed the chapter, there are so many dedications I'm going to have to do now, because I got lots of new fans, and a few comments while I was away. So this one is dedicated to my most recent fan & commenter (I know that's not a real word, but I wasn't sure what else to call it) gator-girl97! Thanks so much! I really appreciate it :D

Well, I'm done for now, sorry for the extremely long authors note! I really hope you liked it :D
