Olivia's POV:
It's Tuesday morning, I walk into the precinct early, hoping that today would be a quiet or slow day. But with my luck, nothing ever goes as planned.
Carisi, Amaro, Rollins, and Fin are sitting at their desks, typing into their computers.
"Good morning."I say to all of them forcing a smile onto my face.
"Morning, Sarge."they all say back, I continue walking and make my way to my office.
I log into my computer and start filling out all the paperwork I was supposed to finish last night.
It's around noon when I finish, I tell everyone they can go home until we get a case but everyone else still has a lot to catch up on. I'm putting files back into my desk drawers when I see someone familiar stroll into the precinct carrying luggage and a small toddler. I walk to the door of my office, shocked.
"What're you doing here, Brian?"I ask him looking at the little girl in his left arm. She looks at me and smiles, reminding me of Zoe when she was a baby, Zoe looked exactly like Brian but somehow she morphed into me.
"I need to talk to you, Olivia."he said nervously.
"No. You need to talk to Zoe, not me. Do you even know where she is, Brian?"I whisper to him angrily.
"No, I don't. Where is she?"he whispered to me, trying not to be loud in front of his daughter.
"The psych ward at Mercy General. She's coming home tomorrow, I haven't been able to speak to her since Saturday, when she went to a party in the Bronx and was drinking. She tried to kill herself, Bri. Now, you can't just try and show up here after you were the only person she wanted to talk to, after her friend was murdered and she was kidnapped and assaulted."I said with tears coming down my cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Olivia."he stands his daughter up on the floor and wraps his arms around me in a hug, I don't want to hug him back, but I need someone to help me, and the only one that could understand how I feel about Zoe is Brian, she's his little girl too.
We pull away from each other when I feel the baby tugging on my pants. I pick her up and she starts laughing, she s so innocent and sweet.
"Her name's Jennifer. Hey, we really need to talk about something, Olivia."he says to me desperately.
I call Amanda over and she takes Jennifer over to her desk, promising her animal crackers. Jennifer smiles and suddenly becomes the center of everyone's attention, something that Zoe did when she was a baby.
I let Brian in and close the door behind us, he looks around the office amazed.
"You know, we always knew it'd be you who made it here first."he says looking at the plaque I got once I became sergeant.
"Who's 'we'?"I ask him confused.
"Me and Elliot...We could tell a long time ago, you were, and still are devoted."he says lightly.
I look down at my feet and feel bad. Being a cop is the only thing I had in me to make me feel like I've been doing good on this planet.
"Well, I came to tell you that Melissa left me and Jennifer. She packed up her things a few months ago and left to Texas."he said disgustingly. (A.N: No offense to anyone who lives in Texas lol)
"That's what a young girl will do to you. Now how old is she again?"I ask him with a sad look on my face, but inside I'm laughing.
"Twenty-seven."he admits to me.
"Ah, I'm surprised, I really thought she'd stick around."I say sarcastically, a smile on my face.
"Go ahead, Olivia, rub it in."he says with a guilty laugh.
