(Naveen's P.O.V)
"Excellent choice your highness, a diamond ring, bold yet completely classic." The cashier at the jewelry store complemented. "May I ask, who is the lucky lady?"
I noticed a couple people standing by look my way out of the corner of my eye. I expected people to be nosy as usual. "You can read all about her in the papers. As of now, all I can say is she is incredible beautiful and special to me." I gave her a charming smile. "As you are to your own husband I'm sure."
She let out a un-ladylike snort. "Oh I'm not married, I'm single as a Pringle."
"Im sure you wont stay single for long." She blushed a deep crimpson and sighed dreamily. Its so easy to distract woman, sometimes a little too easy.
I handed her my credit card that held just enough money for the purchase, and She went to the back so she could get my order ready. I looked around the room as i waited, but spotted a strange looking man with his hood down low almost covering his eyes staring at me intently. I was pulled away when I felt my arm being pulled downward.
"Can I have your autograph?" A little girl with silky brown curls looked at me with big blue eyes, holding up her Disney Princess notebook and pink pen to me.
"Of course pretty girl." I opened the book and saw 'This book belongs to Christen P.' written in big bold letters. So I signed 'To Princess Christen, with love,
-Prince Naveen.'I gave it back to her and she took it from me with her small hands. "It was nice meeting you Princess Christen." And I bowed deeply in front of her .
Her eyes went wide and she ran off back to her mother. "HE KNOWS MY NAME MOMMY! AND HE SAID IM A PRINCESS."
I smiled to myself and turned back to the corner with the strange man but of course, he was gone.
"Will that be all for you today?" She asked, sliding the bag with my ring inside across the counter.
"No, thank you very much..." I read her name tag. " Nancy. You and your colleagues have been a great help to me."
She blushed again and the woman behind her giggling to themselves . " Goodbye ladies." I called as I turned to leave.
"Goodbye Prince Naveen." They sang as I made my way out the door. Lawrence was waiting outside for me the whole time, licking a ice cream cone.
"Where's mine Lawrence?" I asked putting my hands on my hips.
He smiled sheepishly. "Your's was beginning to melt sir, and you know how much I hate mess."
I laughed light heartedly. "Thats okay my friend. I'm not that hungry anyway." I heard the sounds of horns in the distance and started walking towards the sound.
"Wait for me Sire!" Called Lawrence as he struggled to keep up.
Once I turned the corner, I saw a jazz group playing in front of a open guitar case. It was a drummer, a saxophonist, a trumpet player, and a bass player all working together in harmony to make the soulful sounds of jazz.
I closed my eyes and enjoyed the music along with the rest of the people in the crowd. Some even sung the words to the song they were playing. I laughed and nodded my head to the music, tapping my feet and snapping my fingers.
"Your highness." He wined. "Im sorry to interrupt but we do have a schedule to keep in mind."
"In a minute Lawrence." I replied, still intently listening to the beautiful sound of Louisiana jazz. We ended up staying for at least 4 more songs and then the band announced they were done for the day. The crowed clapped for them, throwing money into there guitar case and turned to leave. Me and Lawrence followed suit.
