Tiana (More Than a Story Book 1)

A WEEK'S TIME

(Naveen's P.O.V)

It took a while, but eventually Tiana calmed down and listened to me.  I tried to explain everything I have learned in the past couple of days in the best way I could.

She looked down at me with a urgent expression. "Naveen...we gotta get help if were gonna stop him!"

I stood up on my back legs and walked closer to her, but I noticed that her body became more tense so I went back to my resting position. "Ray and Louis! They're the only other people we can trust this with."

"Okay. Im going to call them and tell 'em to meet me at Mama Ode's."

(1 hour later)

The boys were sitting in front of us at the big round table in the back of the "Gumbo Pot" with much of the same expression Tiana had when I first explained every thing to her.

"So what your saying is, you planned to marry Lotte so you could be rich again." Started Ray.

"But when you screwed up with us, Tiana had to help you pay off your deal with Dr. Faci----
Uh, the Shadow Man." Added Louis.

"So now Shadow Man is working with a league of super demons, who also assassinated your brother, to dethrone your father and take over Maldonia."

"And they plan to do it...by possessing your body?

I looked back and forth between the two of them before standing up on my hind legs, despite the disturbed looks they gave me. "Gentlemen, that is exactly what I'm saying."

Louis shook his head. "Well I'll be..."

"Man." Ray chuckled . "I probably wouldn't believe a thing you just said if it wasn't for the fact that you are a talking frog."

"So wait...who's the one getting married to Lotte tomorrow?" Asked Mama Ode. All of our heads shot over to where she stood. We all thought she was sleeping in the back room and had no idea she was listening to our conversation.

"Uh...well...remember Lawrence?" I asked sheepishly.

They all began to grown, but Tiana's eyes lit up with understanding. "No wonder he's been acting the way he does."

My eyes immediately snapped to her. " What do you mean?"

"He called me a 'good fellow' this morning when I congratulated them on the engagement." Said Louis with look of disgust.

"And called me and 'old chap' and raise his tea cup at me...with his pinky in the air." Laughed Ray. "I just assumed Naveen had gone soft on us. You know, caught a little bit of a sugar foot." 

If this were a cartoon, smoke would have been coming out my ears. Louis and Ray laughed at my reaction, but Tiana is what caught my attention.

While those fools were laughing the pants off themselves, I hopped over to see what was bothering her. "Whats wrong waitress?"

She cut her eyes at me before I saw a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "Are we really going back to that name?"

I planned to say something charming, but my throat expanded again without me realizing, and it just came out as a loud CROACK. I covered my mouth with my webbed hand, but it was too late, she was already in hysterics. I brought my hand to my side, smiling in defeat.
"Ha.ha.ha." I said sarcastically.

"I just...can't believe it was Lawrence the whole time." She hung her head low as her bright smile faded. "I should have known when I heard what he said about what happened that night before the purposal...."  I could feel my anger growing again. "He was with some other girl when I called him. He said I was just jealous because we already broke up and  he never really cared about me."
