Chapter 3: Just Chase

Chase's POV:

Okay so new school, new everything can be quite devastating but then again it also means a brand new, fresh start; which I could really use right now. My past has been very exciting and all but it wasn't like I was the school's player or something... unfortunately I was close. Not trying to sound conceited or anything but i'm pretty sure my appearance played a part in my popularity amongst the opposite gender... in fact it played a huge part. I have short, wavy blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes. My skin's quite tanned due to me living most of my life in Argentina, my height is 6'2 touching 6'3 and I guess you could call me ripped but that's only because I love to work out, yeah I don't see what the big fuss is about. However all my life i've gotten hit on and might I add, some girls can definitely do much more than make a guy feel violated... but to me i'm just Chase. 

Due to my looks and hobbies, each high school i've ever been to would be the same. I'd almost immediately get accepted into the popular group however I would never actually make real friends. But this time, I was hoping it would be different.

And it was..

"Hey, Watch it!" was how I was first greeted in Cassidy. And believe me I was more than happy, but the main reason I came to the one and only Cassidy Academy is to accomplish my dream of being a an amazing tennis player, and plus I got a scholarship for it. Why turn down an offer to do what I love 24/7 right? Plus this school had an amazing tennis and basketball programme.

But thats not the main reason why I came here. I came here to find the love of my life. Cliche? You bet it is, but she is the love of my life...she just doesn't know it yet.

Summer Jones had caught my eye only when I was in 3rd grade. I've been in love with her ever since the day I stole Trey's lunch and Summer tried to get it back, but failed miserably. 

*Flashback*

"Chase just put Trey's lunch down and no on gets hurt!" Summer says matter-of- factly, I smirk at her and start juggling the neatly packed sandwich in my hand. Starting to zone out, Summer takes it as a que to tackle me to the ground. She swiftly catches the package in her hand and grins wickedly at me. She turns around to Trey and gives him a thumbs up. I run when I see Ms. Greene heading our way.

"Ms. Jones give that poor boy back his lunch back this instant!" shouts the red faced teacher. I chuckle from my position behind the tree. I watch as Summer points behind her and I grin as the teacher continues yelling at her. She turns around and gasps, soon turning red, realisation hits her and  she looks back at the teacher and chucks Trey's his lunch back.

Any girl who was willing to tackle me to the ground was a keeper, I remembered thinking.

*Flashback over*

Since that moment I've been trying to befriend Summer and Trey. But not so much Trey as he wasn't the one I was in love with, Summer was; and to see her once again after 7 years or so after I left, I was more than excited.

I couldn't help but love her sweet, innocent smile and her mesmerizing voice that made me go weak in the knees. Her heart shaped face and eyes that would never go un-noticeable, they stood out perfectly from her other perfect features. Her eyes were somewhat unique, the greyness of it so dull, but the tinge of blue made them  radiant. I couldn't help but love her eyes the most, compared to my eyes, her's were like a rainbow. 

I must've looked like a little kid on christmas morning when Summer smiled at me. I felt like I could just die happily here. But even if Summer has changed from the little girl that used to hate me to a gorgeous , amazing, unique teenager, I still loved her all the same. I could feel stares full of desire from all the other guys as Summer flirted with me. I grinned at her and hoped she didn't recognize me. Or else the easy going, flirty smile would disappear and an expression filled with despise and hatred would take it's place. Even if it was 7 years ago... I knew I would definitely not be her favourite person once she recognized me.

LUNCH

"Trey give it back!" Summer pouted, her voice like music to my ears. I grinned at her pouting her lips and her pulling a face as Trey held her yoghurt cup inches from her small stretched open hand. I chuckled at the faces she was pulling, "Hey, your not allowed to laugh at this!" she stated before attempting to reach for her yoghurt cup once again. I swiftly grabbed the yoghurt out of Trey's hand earning a scowl from him, smiling as I gave it back to Summer. "Thanks!" she chirped gratefully,grabbing it off me, then expertly staring Trey down.

Through out Lunch, I felt eyes on me. It felt like the whole cafeteria was staring at me, burning holes into my back. Turning around I heard everyone go silent for a second before going back to their own lunches. "Someone has a  fan!" Autumn sang, as she pointed at a girl sitting in the corner. She had huge glasses, that sat in the bridge of her nose  and a set of braces that were seen when she smiled. Which was currently right now, as she sat staring at me, I waved an awkward wave and turned back to find Summer laughing, her laughter making the whole cafeteria turn and look.

"Jones your kinda making a scene..." Trey whispered, holding back a grin. They found me having a creepy girl watching me eat lunch, funny? Kids these days... I shook my head and smiled at her, "SO, Chase.." she trailed off into a whisper. "There's gonna be a party on Friday, at Trey and everyone's going, I was thinking since you were ne-" "Yea sure I'll come!" I replied cutting her off. I saw her exhale a breath and it made me smile at how nervous she looked when she was about to ask me. 

The rest of the day was pretty damn awesome. I mean Cassidy is quite full of people and that gave me a great oppurtunity to observe the girl of my dreams without being noticed. Okay, yes that sounds a little too creepy even for my liking but it's just been so long since i've seen Summer and it just all seemed like a dream; and I just couldn't get enough! Every time i would peek a glance at her I would catch her laughing uncontrollably, yet adorably, or even sometimes catch her day dreaming during class and completely zoning out, with that spaced out look on her face which made me want to know so badly what was going on in her mind.  The worst part was when Trey caught me chuckling at Summer's clueless expression when she was interrupted in one of her day dreams and all i can say is that if looks could kill this dude here would be on top of the most wanted list. Since then I made a mental note of avoiding any awkward eye contact with Trey. 

But yeh going back to doing my work definitely was not an option either because a.) I couldn't stop thinking of a particular honey hair coloured someone sitting only just a few seats away or b.) a chick beside me, i think she said her name was Josie, wouldn't stop talking about how much she loved tennis... which I highly doubted because honestly i've done this before; as soon as they find out that i'm here on a tennis scholarship out come all the tennis fanatics and the Roger Federer fans. So for now, day dreaming about Summer would be my only option and I think I might just settle with it for now...

I'm the kind of guy who's patient and persistent when it comes to winning a girl's heart... but then again Summer Jones is definitely not 'just any girl', she's my girl and I hope that after i've worked my so- called 'magic' she'll have more than a crush on me too. Hopefully 'Just Chase' can show the girl of his dreams what he's truly made of?

Let's just say this gorgeous girl will have me on my toes till the time I convince her that

okay soo this chapter aint very long either but it was necessary to get to know Chase as he will be one of the main characters in this story! He is a bit of a cuutiee tho isn't he... (; But do you's think him and Summer will really hit it off or is this just a random crush for Summer and that eventually Chase will end up with someone else or something ? I don't know... but wat do u think is gonna happen, any predictions? Chase is turning out to be one of those determined, romantic types of guys and that's quite likable, rite? Any thoughts?
