Dylan's PO.V
I stood frozen.
Unmoving.
People rushed down the stairs to where Sandy laid. My eyes fell onto Brianna who stood to the side with a triumphant smile, hands on hips. But I didn't see red. I saw nothing. Nothing but black and suddenly my fist connected to her pretty little face and her head snapped to the right. Her eyes lit with fury and I stared her down. I could feel myself losing control and I clenched my fist. I gave her one last death glare and rushed down the stairs to Sandy. My heart clenched. The crowd parted and I slowly walked to her still body. I bent down an knelt beside lightly caressing her cheek. Sliding off my jacket I wrapped it around her body, before lifting it up. She was very light and I eased her into a more comfortable position in my arm before I fled to the first aid wing.
"Call the ambulance!" I yelled when I reached them. All three ladies turned to face me and their eyes widened when they saw Sandy's helpless bloody state.
"Oh my god!" One of them, I think Ms Lockman, gasped before she ran to the phone and dialled the ambulance. Her voice was shaking.
And then I saw him. The guy that was with Sandy this morning walked into the wing limping and froze. He clamped his hand over his mouth before he ran over.
What happened to the stuffed up leg huh?
"Sandy! Oh my god!!" He cried as he reached us. "Oh my god Di! What happened?!!" He stated down at Sandy and I could see tears forming in his eyes.
Wait...tears?....
I was immediately intrigued. Was he crying because of Sandy's body's state or was it because he was feeling pain?
I snapped out of my confused state as I saw him gently stroking Sandy's forehead. A tear dropped onto her face.
"No..." He whispered. "No. No. No! No!!! Sandy wake up!!! Don't leave me!! Don't!! You're all I have left! Please!!" He was sobbing hysterically.
There was no reaction from Sandy.
Nothing.
We both watched her, silence overwhelming us until the loud piercing sound of ambulance sirens shattered our moment. We sprang into action, sprinting towards the carpark of the school to meet up with the ambulance.
I placed her down onto the stretcher and the paramedics pushed it in.
"Who's riding with her in here?" The paramedic asked.
"Me." I heard a voice clash with mine.
I turned my head and glared at the other guy next to me.
We both took a step forwards, "I'll go." We both growled at each other.
"Are any of you guys family to this lady?" The paramedic asked quickly as he clamped a mask onto Sandy.
"I am." The guy stepped forward. "I'm her brother."
My eyes widened and I took a step back. "Oh."
"Do you have a car?" Sandy's brother asked me as he looked at me.
"Yeah."
"Follow us okay?" He asked.
I nodded before jogging over to my car and tailing the ambulance as it pulled out of the school car park. My heart was pounding and I struggled to stay focused onto the road ahead. I breathed out heavily, trying to calm down.
She'll be just fine. She will be alright. They've treated more life threatening injuries before. They will help her. She will get better.
My hands tightened on the wheel my knuckles paling. I sped after the retreating figure of the ambulance and after what seemed like ages we arrived and I carelessly parked my car somewhere and ran inside the hospital as they rolled Sandy down the hallway to the Emergency Room. The doctor pulled the curtain shut but not before I saw him shining a torch into Sandy's eyes. I remembered learning about this. If the pupils shrunk then the person's reflexes were working and that meant they had a good chance of living through and operation. They conducted an MRI scan on her to view the extent of her injuries before rushing her down to the first available operation theatre. Sandy's brother and I sprinted after them. As the surgeon went in a nurse set the count down clock and pinned the results of the scan to a lit dashboard. They had 1 hour and 40 minutes to save her. I bit my lip and collapsed onto the benched outside the theatre. Sandy's brother paced the hallway running a hand through his hair and breathing heavily. He bit back a sob and continued pacing. I let my head fall into my hands, thoughts running through my mind.
I stared at the blank ground and gritty my teeth as I fought back the image of her laying lifeless on the bottom of the stairs.
"How?" I heard a choked whisper and looked up to see Sandy's brother looking at me.
"Brianna- Brianna pushed her down the stairs." I whispered back, flinching, afraid of what his reaction would be.
His eyes flashed with anger and he clenched his fist. "I'M GOING TO F****** KILL HER!!!!" He roared before his fist connected with the wall.
I flinched.
This guy's anger was scary and I definitely did not want it diverted to me. But I could understand where he was coming from.
I was a ball of fury inside.
When I looked to the clock on the side wall only 2 minutes had past and it had felt like 2 hours.
"What's your name?"
I lifted my head up. "Dylan. Yours?"
"Tyler."
I nodded my head and my eyes fell on the flashing screen of my phone.
Where r u guys? - Alana
Guilt overwhelmed me and I picked up my phone typing a quick reply.
Eastwell Hospital...
Growling I threw my phone to the ground and watched as it dispersed into piece on the ground.
"Wow man... Calm down." Tyler trudged over and placed a firm hand on my shoulder. "She'll be fine. They will help her."
I covered my face with my hands and let out a deep, strangled sigh.
1 hour and 38 minutes to go.
For the last 48 minutes I had sat on the chair absentmindedly pushing around the pieces of my broken phone with my foot. Tyler had dropped down, sitting on the floor with his back against the wall.
The silence was deafening....until we heard a scream.
"DOCTOR SHE'S A FLATLINE!"
And a phone shattered against the sickeningly, bleached white walls.
DUN DUN DUNNNNN!

RomanceThere are many reasons behind tears and crying. Dylan Laxington is a typical football jock, well he would be if he wasn't so obsessed with tears. He's interested in the reasoning behind the falling tears, why they fall and how. Sandy Silverstone is...
