Chapter 9

A few more weeks later....

"James, relax would you! Moony will be fine! It's not the first rough morning after- !" Sirius urged at breakfast.

"Shut it Padfoot, or else everyone'll know." Peter informed him in a bored tone.

Speaking of Remus....

"Hey Sirius," Lily said. "Why don't you you go check up on him? Just to calm his nerves."

"Fine I will." And he walked out.

"Alright Lils, what are you planning?" James asked, sliding in next to her.

"Oh nothing, you'll see soon enough," Lily replied with a smirk.

Meanwhile...

Sirius walked briskly out of the Great Hall. When he pushed open the doors, he ran smack into someone else.

"Bloody hell, sorry mate," he muttered, helping the other boy pick up his books.

When the other boy heard Sirius' voice, his head snapped up and their eyes locked.

"Whatever," Regulus muttered back and tried to proceed before he was stopped again by his brother.

"Wait Reg, I'm sorry. You've got to know that I had to leave. They abused me, you couldn't expect me to stay," Sirius explained.

Regulus stood up straighter to his older brother. "Don't tell me what I can or cannot do Sirius." Regulus bumped Sirius' shoulder with his own as he walked away. But what he was really thinking was, I need you.

Sirius' face fell. He had lost this battle. He only wanted to protect his brother and not let him become a Death Eater, or anything like that lot. But because of his own actions, his brother had turned cold, all because of him.

Little did Sirius know, that out of everyone else, Regulus Black was the most determined person to bring that bastard Voldemort down, because if it wasn't for him, his parents wouldn't have pushed his brother away, thus losing him forever.

Sirius trudged up to his dormitory to check on Remus, trying to push Regulus out of his mind.

When he entered, he glanced at the one bed with all the curtains drawn and sighed. He walked out over and gently pushed them back, revealing a large lump underneath a bundle of blankets.

"Moony? You alright mate?" Sirius asked.

Remus groaned in acknowledgment. Sirius sighed again. "Listen mate I know it's only been the second time since we came back, but you've got to get out and get some...erm..nature to stimulate your senses.." Sirius mentally slapped himself. Did he really just say that??

Remus pulled the covers off of himself, revealing his messy hair and even more scars than he had before. "Look Sirius, I really appreciate it, but I can't deal with you right now..." he tried to explain.

"What? What the bloody hell does that mean? I stick with you every full moon, no matter what the costs! And you say you can't deal with me?" Sirius yelled in frustration.

"Sirius leave, please."

"No! Not until you tell me why you can't deal with me!" He yelled again.

Remus rolled his eyes. Had it really come to this? Unfortunately it had, so he grabbed Sirius' collar and pulled him down for a kiss.

To his surprise, Sirius didn't pull away. There was just so much pent up anger and frustration that just carried into the kiss. Remus didn't get ahead of himself though, it only lasted 5 seconds at the most.

If there was an award for most shocked Animagi in the bloody world, it would go to Sirius. His best mate was kissing him! What the bloody hell! But oddly, Sirius wasn't repulsed at all by the whole thing.

After they pulled apart, Remus lightly shoved Sirius' chest. "Now do you see why I can't deal with you?" He asked, but it was more of a statement than a question. Sirius was speechless, but Remus just casually threw on a new shirt, brushed his hair, and said, "Well if you'll excuse me, I'm going to fetch some breakfast for myself." AND HE BLOODY LEFT.

Sirius was left standing there, still shaken up. Call him sappy, call him cliché, but he slowly raised his fingers and lightly brushed his lips, smiling to himself.

"YOU DID WHAT?!" James yelled at the Gryffindor table during lunch. Lily was just silently smirking, enjoying that her plan actually worked. But meanwhile, every head in the hall turned to look at James, including the teachers.

"Oh calm down James, it's not that big of a deal," Remus said, rolling his eyes.

"It bloody well is a big deal! My two best friends kissed each other! What the bloody hell is wrong with the world?!" He yelled again.

"James, lower your voice, everyone is staring..." Lily said, grabbing James' forearm.

"Lily! How aren't you freaked out by this?" James yelled, again.

Lily just ate her bacon and casually said, "Because I set them up."

James turned even more red, if that was physically possible. Meanwhile, Remus and Sirius were staring at her with open mouths. Unfortunately, Peter wasn't there to witness the spectacle. Something about being too busy with the ladies. Pft, what ladies?

"That's why you told me to go check on him! Not to, and I quote, 'calm James' nerves', but so that could happen!" Sirius exclaimed at Lily.

Remus groaned. "Lily I told you to leave it alone!"

"You told her before me? I feel so betrayed," James said dramatically, looking mock-offended.

Right then, Professor McGonagall appeared beside the four. "Oh hello Professor! Can you believe that Remus and Sirius kissed without me in their presence!?" James said.

"Hey! Remus kissed me!" Sirius exclaimed with his hands in the air in defense, while Remus just jabbed him with his elbow.

McGonagall just ignored Sirius and replied to James. "Actually Mr. Potter, I can believe it. You see, Professor Dumbledore owes me 5 galleons, as I predicted this," she said, gesturing to Remus and Sirius, "would happen first term of sixth year."

James looked scandalized. "Oh and one last thing Mr. Potter," she added, "I congratulate you on your relationship with Ms. Evans. Unfortunately, I had to give in to the headmaster. Pardon me, Ms. Evans, but I thought you'd hold out a little longer, at least until seventh year." Lily raised her eyebrows in shock. She knew the Marauders were close with McGonagall, but she didn't know they were that close.

"Now I trust none of you will be late to class. Good day." And she strutted off.

As for James, he still looked like a baboon's arse, but kept quiet for the rest of their meal.

A/N I hope this chapter was as good as I thought it was! Remus and Sirius are OTP guys. But don't worry, Remus is bisexual, so when he married Tonks and had baby Teddy, it was still out of love. Because oh my freaking god I love Teddy Lupin (who is currently Head Boy/a seventh year Hufflepuff this year) more than life itself. I'll try to update soon my lovelies :)
