Regulus' POV

Seriously, I should go to Madam Pompfrey to treat my headache, this was unbearable. Despite the red and gold coating everything I spotted two younger students sitting in front of a fireplace.

"Excuse me, do you know where Sirius Black's dormitory is?" I asked them.

One of them gave me a dirty look. Guess the feeling toward Slytherins was the same for everyone. I crossed my arms and glared at him until he wiped the look off his face.

"Straight up the stairs, sixth door on the right," the kid told me, pointing in the direction. I nodded and walked up the stairs.

When I reached the top, I walked down the hall until I saw a door labeled "Sixth Year Boys" and opened it.

I walked in and saw Sirius attempting to carve something into his bedpost.

"What are you doing?" I asked. He jumped and turned to face me. His face turned cold.

"That depends," he replied. "Why are you here?"

I crossed my arms. "You're my brother, I came to see if you're okay."

Sirius laughed sinisterly. "Oh how sweet of you. I don't suppose you brought a fruit basket as well?" He said sarcastically.

"Hey!" I shot back, uncrossing my arms. "You are not allowed to be angry here. You're the one that left me behind. You're the one who won't let me help you. I haven't done anything wrong!" Sirius glared at me.

"Well if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have to leave! If you didn't try to act so perfect all the time, Mother and Father would still have accepted me as family!" He yelled back.

"It's not my fault you always want to be so bloody chivalrous! If you could've just tried to fit in to our family, you would've made it! How do you think it made them feel when Mother and Father had to tell people you were the only one in centuries of Blacks to be sorted into Gryffindor? It's because of that tosser, James Potter, and that stupid boyfriend of yours, Lupin! I'm telling you, Pettigrew is the only one out of all of you that actually has potential!" I yelled.

Sirius froze. "You're actually defending them? Those people who've made my life hell? And you actually try to belittle the people who've made me happy? You are so arrogant. Even if I was in Slytherin, I'd bet you anything Mother and Father would've just said that I'm a disgrace to the Slytherin name! Don't you get it by now? They hate me, they'll never be proud of me, no matter what I try to do to please them! I'm not apologizing for leaving Regulus! Sure, I regret that you stayed behind, but I had to get out of there!"

"Sirius, you've got to understand that you weren't meant to be in the family you were born into, and it's not your
fault," I tried to say, grabbing his shoulder gently. He just jutted his arm away from me.

"Thanks a lot, Reg. That helps, really," he said sarcastically.

"I have had it with your bloody sarcasm Sirius! I try and I try and I try, but nothing pleases you! You're just like Mother and Father," I cried out. But I realized about a minute too late that that was the wrong thing to say.

"Oh bloody hell Sirius, I'm sorry I didn't mean that!"

Just then, our cousin Andromeda walked through the door. "Sirius!" she yelled, and then her eyes landed on my frantic expression. "Regulus, please go, let me handle the situation." As much as I didn't want to, I knew the best thing would be to leave. I nodded and walked down the stairs and out the portrait hole.

Sirius' POV

As much as I hated my twisted family, the only relative, apart from Regulus, who I had ever loved was my cousin Andromeda. She was sorted into Slytherin too, but she is the most kind hearted person I know. She's Head Girl this year, and she's 18 at the moment, older than most people in her grade. Unfortunately for her, she seemed to have the worst luck.

Three years ago, she went to her first ever Muggle party and got pregnant by some Muggle she really fancied, so now she's got a little girl named Nymphadora. I'm not really sure why she named her that, but hey, it's her baby. It's been really hard for Andy (Andromeda) since then, because her parents disowned her for being a disgrace to purebloods, so now she lives with that Muggle who knocked her up, this dude named Ted Tonks.

By far, Andy was my favorite cousin. Bella either made fun of me or made a
point of ignoring me in obvious ways, and Cissy just didn't talk to me much. But Andy and I loved each other. She was the best part of my family.

She came up to talk to me when Regulus left. I was pretty bummed. Reg and I never yelled at each other like that, so I was pretty much in shock. I just leaned my head on Andy's shoulder.

"Sirius, I don't think he meant for it to escalate like that. He came up here because of what Severus said. What was that about anyway?" she asked me.

"Don't worry about it," I muttered.

She pulled away and crossed her arms. "I most certainly will worry about it, because it has obviously gotten you completely upset."

"I really appreciate your concern Andy, but I'm only a year and a half younger than you. Stop treating me like I'm your kid, you've already got one of those," I told her.

She stood up straight. "Fine." And she walked out.

I buried my face in my hands. Could this get any worse?

As if on cue, I heard Lily scream from downstairs. "Severus Snape you let go of me right this instant!"

I sighed and ran down the stairs.
