The bar had pretty much cleared out as hours passed by without me realizing it. The only people left in the bar was Liam and I, along with a ginger headed female and brunette male who appeared to be friends of Adam.
"L-Liam!" the male hollered across the bar, "we gotta-" it took him multiple times to complete his sentence with letting slurring through his words and giggling. "Get homee! You're driving us! Shut up berry!" Who's berry? The male giggled incredibly as the female grinned and wiped away the tears forming in her eyes from laughter.
Liam chuckled and licked the bottom of his lips before reconnecting his eye contact with mine. He had taken the challenge that I insisted and he completed all tasks without any struggle whatsoever, the closest thing he came to cracking was the glimmer in his eyes after each beverage. Almost as if he was more of an emotional drunk rather than crazy drunk.
"Listen," he slowly leaned over the bar counter and rested his hand on top of mine his warmth making me freeze in my spot, "I had fun tonight." He said quietly
"Really? This was fun to you?" I said sarcastically and smiled nervously. We had spent the last few hours talking about our lives and well, what people normally talk about when they first meet someone.
"Yeah, it was. To be honest, I've had more fun with you than with my two buddies over there who I've been with for the past few weeks. Road trip problems Yenno? You get sick of em once in a while." He pointed towards his back and shrugged his shoulders before taking one last swig of his drink.
"God, I'm just so amazed at how easily you can drink so much of...well everything."
"Oh but wait until you've seen me drink wine. I could drink for practically forever." He sucked on the tip of each of his fingers lightly for effect.
"Red or white?"
"Both."
"Fancy."
"So what do you say?"
"...?"
"You and me, how about a fancy dinner and some wine? And this time I won't be the only one drinking." He beamed, the dimples once again exposing at the corners of his mouth.
I gave it a couple of seconds, debating whether or not to say yes. After mentally listing the pros and cons I settled for an answer. What the heck right?
"Sure," My lips puckered into a smile and he nodded his head, "I'll write down my phone number for you. Just give me a few seconds to put some stuff in the back, Kay?" With that, I grabbed some boxes filled with empty beer bottles and headed for the back of the bar.
Hayes's POV:
I was fixing my hair in the mirror, the view of messy hair and lipstick kisses along my neck was in my presence. At my peripheral vision, Janice...or wait, was it Jessica? Fuck. I forgot, Whatever, she was slipping back into her tight dress with the corners of her mouth turned upwards into a giddy smile.
"This was fun," she giggled seductively. God, she giggled far too much, "we should do it again some time." She ran her hands along the sides of my arms before placing a few more warm kisses on my neck. I replied with nothing but a smile, she was good. But not good enough that I would be coming back for more.
"Call me some time." She slipped me a receipt with a written number on the back before she sashayed out of the bathroom. I scoffed, "as if." I flicked the receipt into the garbage can while stopping once more in front of the mirror to fix my hair and look presentable. I hope Aurora is okay.
