'Give me a fact,' Logan said with a yawn.
'Platypuses sweat milk,' I replied.
'Oh, speaking of milk,' Logan sat up from his position on the floor. I stayed sprawled out across the carpet and my eyes travelled over to where the brunette sat. 'We need some. Go to the store.'
'You go,' I frowned.
'I'll be abducted.'
'What, by a homosexual rapist?' I raised a brow. 'Go yourself.'
'Can't be bothered,' he sighed. 'Mom can go later.'
'Don't lump everything on our mother,' I told him. I sat up slowly. 'You know what? I'll go.'
He conducted a small, meaningless wave as I stood up. 'Get some candy while your at it.'
'No,' I sighed and picked up some change from the kitchen counter. 'I'm not buying stupid things out of mom's money.'
'Fine,' he pouted, and as he spoke, the home phone started ringing. I released an exasperated breath of air as I answered it.
'Hello? Who is this?' I asked with a scowl.
'Ahh, is this Robin?' Said a familiar and gentle voice. 'This is Ellis.'
'I'm busy. Bye.' I took it away from my head.
I was about to hang up when there was a loud 'Wait--!'
I brought it back to my ear. 'What do you want?'
'I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything that happened between us,' he said. 'If I did anything to irritate you or to offend you. I heard you're coming over this weekend and I don't want it to be awkward.'
'Change of plans,' I shrugged, 'I'm not coming.'
'Oh, why not? Is there a problem?' His tone sounded concerned. 'Are you sick?'
'Why do you care?' I frowned. 'You said you were going to stay away from me. So kindly fuck off.'
There was a moment of silence. 'Hm.'
'What?'
'You still haven't told me why you can't come to my house.'
I sighed. 'Do I need to?'
'Not really,' he said, 'but it would be nice.'
'Look, you're a stranger to me. I know you about as much as anyone else at our school. I don't want to know you.' I leaned against the counter and watched as Logan ditched his iPad to run upstairs. 'I get that people may like you. But I don't.'
'I see,' he said after a second. 'That's fine.'
'So are we done?' I raised a brow. 'Can I go?'
'Oh, yes, of course!' He chuckled. 'I can't keep you when you're supposed to be busy. I'll see you around, right?'
'Whatever,' I shrugged and ended the call. 'Logan?'
There was no answer.
'Logan!' I shouted. Again, silence. I sighed and walked into the living room, picking up his iPad. It had some sort of document opened on it. 'What is..?' I started reading curiously.
"He pushed me against the wall, his hands searching my chest. His mouth moved with mine roughly, hungrily. This was so wrong; for two men to do this. But it felt so right."
My eyebrows raised.
"My arms wrapped automatically around his neck, pulling him closer and running my hands through his hair. I released a moan of delight as his hand slipped up my shirt and his fingers circled around my chest."
I stopped reading then. This was open on my nine year old brother's iPad? Was it a mistake? Did he accidentally come across it? I turned to look up the stairs. 'Logan!'
There was still no answer.
I placed the iPad under my arm and walked up the stairs. 'You there?'
He opened his bedroom door and walked out. 'Yeah? What is it?'
'What are you reading on your iPad?' I held the device up.
Panic and heat spread across his face and he raced back into his room, slammed the door and locked it.
'Logan, just tell me the truth,' I sighed.
'Never!'
'Was it an accident?' I raised a brow. 'If it was then it's fine.'
He opened his door slightly. 'What if it wasn't?'
'Then you'll have to tell me,' I said.
He was silent for a second. 'It wasn't an accident.' He closed the door again.
'So it's a guilty pleasure?' I asked, slightly amused. It wasn't supposed to be entertaining in the slightest, given the situation, but it wasn't not funny.
'I don't know what that means!'
'Something embarrassing that you don't want people to find out about.'
'Then yes!' He shouted truthfully. 'Yes it is!'
'How far do they-?' I scrolled down on the document and scoffed. 'You read gay smut in your free time.'
'Don't tell mom!' He cried.
'Were you reading this in the same room as me?' I questioned, attempting to repress a smirk.
'Maybe!'
'Have you no shame?' I mumbled. 'So what does this mean?'
'Huh?'
'It's gotta mean something, right?' I shrugged. 'I mean, you read gay smut. Are you perhaps...?'
'No, no,' he opened the door. 'I'm straight.'
'You're nine, too,' I said.
'But I know I'm straight. Because whenever Nancy shows me a picture of herself in a swimming costume and whenever we go to swimming lessons it makes me feel tingly.'
I laughed under my hand. 'Mm.'
'Why are you laughing?' He frowned. 'You're scaring me. You never laugh.'
'You're telling me so much today,' I told him. 'Anyway, on the topic of Nancy...'
'No!' He exclaimed, opening his door further. 'I can't speak about her!'
I raised a brow. 'Why?'
'Because when I think about her my face feels weird and warm and I want to smile and stuff!' He pouted. 'I don't like it!'
'Logan, do you have a..?' I stopped myself. 'Actually, I think that's enough for today.' I handed the iPad back to him. 'You can... Carry on with what you were reading.' He took the iPad and smiled.
The front door opened and our mother hopped into the house. 'Hey, I'm home!' She looked up the stairs. 'Whatcha guys doing?'
We both looked at each other and then at her, and in unison shouted, 'nothing!'~~
Wasn't quite how I imagined the chapter to turn out but whatever. Sorry if it's shit, my dad's being an absolute asshat so I'm not in the best mood. Have a lovely day!
