Chapter 6

Ashley got off work at 10:30pm & came straight home. She had to tell her children something really important and she didn't want to wait. She pulled in the drive way and went in the house.

"Joshua...Tevin....Gisselle, come here please"

Ashley yelled as she entered the house. Nobody came running to the kitchen so she went down stairs to the movie theater.

"Hey Ma"

Joshua said as he got up & hugged her

"Hey babies. I have to tell you something"

"What is it mama?"

Tevin asked.

"Do yall want Chris, Nya & Whitney to know?"

Ashley asked.

"Yeah it's cool. What's going on ma?"

Gisselle said as she got up off the couch and stood next to her brothers.

"Well yall father came to see me at work... And he told me that he wants custody of Tevin & Gisselle"

"What the hell? What is his problem? He think he can just miss 7 years of our life & then come back and take us from our only stable home. I'm not going no where with that man"

Tevin said beginning to get angry.

"Baby, that's not all I have to tell you. Remember when I had to go on vacation & I didn't call you all for 3 days?"

"Yeah mama, now what are you trying to say?"

Gisselle asked.

"Well I had another baby named Tracy...and I gave her to your aunt to raise as her own. I didn't know how you all will handle it & I didn't want a stranger to have my baby."

"What the hell?"

Joshua & Gisselle said at the same time.

"Why didn't you tell us this? & what do this have to do with my father trying to get custody of us?"

Tevin asked.

"Well I had Tracy by your father as well & he said he want all of you except Joshua cause he's grown. He paid me a lot of money to keep quiet so his wife wouldn't find out but they're getting a divorce & he doesn't want to be a lonely bitch"

Chris, Nya & Whitney just sitting there in shock.

"Wow!"

Gisselle said as she began to cry.

"So what we going to do? We can't just let him take us. I'll be 18 soon, think we can try to stall till then?"

Tevin asked.

"Baby i don't know if we enough time to stall. He making moves as we speak. We got to figure something out now!"

Ashley said as she tried to hold back her tears.

"Ma, you know how our father is. He's not making no legal moves. Maaaan! What the fuck"

Joshua said hugging his mother.

"Watch your mouth boy. We need to think. He's gonna try hurt everything & everyone in his path. It got to be more to this story of why he want you three"

"This is beyond crazy"

Joshua said.

While they were talking downstairs in the movie theater. Somebody began banging on the front door.

"Ma! You hear that?"

Gisselle asked as she jumped up.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

"you guys stay right here! Don't make a sound. Ima go check"

Joshua said as he headed for the stairs.

"No! You have heavy ass feet. They gonna hear you. I'll go. Josh wait at the top of the stairs."

Ashley said.

She carefully walked to the door & looked out the peep hole. Then she snuck back to Joshua & they went back down stairs.

"Who was it ma ?"

Joshua asked as they rushed down the steps.

"Okay you guys we have to go like right now! It's their father with 2 big ass dudes. They not gonna break in because our neighbors are outside. But we have to get the fuck as soon as they leave!"

Ashley said.

"Hold up. Ms. Ashley what about us? I'm pretty sure he done did his research or whatever and found out us"

Whitney jumped in the conversation.

"Baby we all have to disappear. We have to meet with your family. We aren't safe here no more."

Ashley responded.

"Jesus Christ! My mom is going to go the hell off"

Nya said.

"Yeah mines is too but I rather for all of us to be safe than be looking behind us all the damn time."

Chris jumped in.

"Your aunt just texted me! They just came to her house for Tracy. Let's go NOW!"

Ashley yelled as she grabbed her purse.
