The bitter wind whipped around me as I walked down the dark snow filled street. It was the middle of winter here in beautiful Paris, which sucked. I hated the cold more than anything else, except maybe snow. It got all on you and in your shoes just to melt later on and make your attire damp. The cold nor the snow would stop me though, I was on a mission of great importance.

Coming to the edge of the street I see a dark figure slink across an adjourning street and into the metro station. Waiting a few minutes I follow the figure that was now out of sight.

Clambering down the slippery stairwell I'm greeted by the unpleasant smells of must, urine, and mildew. Even in Paris the subway was grotesque. Paying for my ticket I clamber onto the train in hot pursuit of my prey, keeping far enough away as not to be caught.

A few stops later they've disappeared and I'm in the train seemingly alone. How had I lost them? Sighing with despair I get off at the next stop to come.

I walk along the street, the music from surrounding clubs making the ground vibrate. Letting out a sigh of frustration I duck into a small cafe.

The dim lighting and quiet conversations entomb me. Peace at last. I'd spent the past few months hunting for someone whom seemingly didn't want to be found. I was on the verge of giving up.

Walking lightly I make my way to the bar at the very back. Taking a seat I wait for the waiter to come over.

"Bonjour madam," he says. Looking into his cool blue eyes I'm reminded of a man I once knew. My shoulders sag in defeat as nostalgia washes over me in waves.

"Tea please," I say politely. The man looks at me with pity in his eyes before going off to return with my refreshment.

Time goes on and the crowd soon begins to wane, until I'm the only one left besides the workers. With a half hearted smile I pay the waiter and go back out into the unforgiving night. With nothing better to do I make my way towards the river bank and walk alongside it.

From behind me I can hear the faint sounds of footsteps but decide against paying it any mind. It was probably just a stray animal looking for food.

Pausing in my walk, I take a seat on a bench and admire the beauty of the frigid city. The lights of the Eiffel Tower shimmered in the distance like a diamond necklace begging to be purchased. I was so lost in my day dream that I hadn't realized the stranger whom appeared next to me.

"I'm sorry. I'll be on my way." Making to stand up, a tan very powerful hand shoots out and grabs my wrist. Turning my head slightly I see the hooded figure that I'd been hunting prior to losing them on the train.

"Hey," They let go of my wrist. Their voice was soft and hard to hear.

The corners of my lips tugged up shyly. "Hey."

They stand and look at me, giving me a full on view of their face. It was the same pouty lips, perfectly arched eyebrows, and soul searching eyes. Her hair was shorter, and dyed blonde at the tips but otherwise she was the same.

As smooth as possible I slip my hand in hers, "I'm sorry I took so long." It was true, everything that happened had been a repercussion of my idiotic actions. I was selfish to had left when she needed me the most. How could I have been so stupid?

She simply shakes her head and try's to walk but comes stops when she realizes I wasn't walking with her.

"Your not coming?" Her voice was void of all emotion. I wonder what she's thinking.

I glance at our hands feeling my heart begin to fray around the edges. "Where are we going?"

A smirk appears on her face, the same smirk that I longed for all these years.

"We'll know when we get there." Turning, she shoves her hands in her pockets and begins strolling down the side of the Seine. Jogging slightly I catch up to her, my heart doing leaps of joy in my chest.

After long 8 years, I'd found her. My love, my life, my eternity-
