Declain couldn't help but hold a frown everytime he walked passed his sisters room. She was cooked up in there and would only leave for meals and school. She didn't even show emotion when the college she wanted to go to accepted her application.
Graduation was in a few weeks and deep down, Belle was dreading it. She has been avoiding any large events that Neymar would have gone to if their friendship was patched up. Neymar refused to make any contact with her, its been 2 months and he still showed no interest in being friends again. It was wrong, she should have never kept it a secret. Gaining her memory back was something she knew Neymar has been waiting patiently for.
"Belle?" Declain pocked his head in just enough for him to set his eyes on her. She didn't respond, but he knew she was listening. "Can we talk?" No response. Once he walked in her space, he didn't know what to say. He was expecting her to shoo him away like she has been doing. "Do your homework? " was all he could think of to say.
She shot him a look that said that she knew the real reason he was in here. He sighed and sat down next to her. "You okay?"
Her head turned away from him and she tucked her legs to her chest and placed her head on the tip of her knees. Still no response.
"You must of cared about him a lot."
"Yes." She finally spoke, but in a small voice.
"I didn't know.."
She whipped a tear away secretly before her brother noticed. "You never know."
Declain opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by their mother. "Belle, you have company."
Belle groaned and threw herself back so she was able to land on her pillow. "I told everyone that I didnt want to hang out today. "
Declain peered out the bedroom door and into the hall. Instead of looking at the short, girly statures of Belle's friends but only saw the tall figure of a man. "I'll go see who it is."
From behind him, he shut the door and gave a glare to him. "It's been a while." Declain mumbled.
Neymar gave him a short nod.
"Belle doesn't want company--"
"I won't be here long." He cut him off. Declain didn't speak. There was nothing really left to say. If he kept him away from her, it would only make her more upset.
Neymar moved passed Declain and opened the door to find Belle on her bed. He put the box on the floor and the sound caused Belle to sit up. "Neymar?" She whispered. He looked at her, pursed lips.
"Belle." He spoke blandly.
"Neymar!" Jumping from her bed, she ran up and pulled him into a hug. No matter how bad Neymar wanted to grab her and hold her tightly, he couldn't. He refused to.
Belle felt Neymar tense his body and looked up at him. "You're still mad?"
His lips were a thin straight line and he looked away from her.
"Neymar its been months!" She let go and was now standing in front of him.
"You think I can get over that? Belle do you know how worried I was?!"
"But Neymar--"
"Do you know how much time and money I spent?! A lot! And that was only because I cared about you!" He growled.
Belle fought tears, they've fought before but never like this.
"You don't know how hurt I am right now! You took advantage of me!"
Neymar was so angry that he began to shake.
"I-I thought you were doing all those things because you were guilty.."
"I did them because I loved you!! Because I wanted to be the one to make you feel like I do with you everyday! I wanted to show you.."
He held his head down and fought the blush that burned his cheeks. "That I could be more than a friend.."
"Neyma--"
"Forget it!" He growled. "It was love in a past tense."
Those words made her heart drop and she felt the anxiety bile crawl up her throat. Neymar stormed out of her room and she was frozen to the ground. She wanted to run after him, to make everything right, but once she heard the engine of Neymar's car roar to life, she knew she fucked up big time.
