*Four years ago*

There was just something about Neymar that caught Belle's attention. All week, she has been hearing about the new strange kid who moved from who knows where. She wasn't one to judge, but there was something particularly odd about him. Something that set him apart from other boys. The day he walked into her third period, heads turned and the rude comments began. His hair was spiked into a bizarre fohawk looking style. He dressed in a pair of baggy jeans and an hoodie and had headphones practically glued into his ears.

"Mr. Nah -Mer? " Ms. Santamaria read off of the slip of paper that was handed to her upon his entrance.

"Nay-Mar." He corrected her. Numerous giggles came from ignorant students and glares were shot as he moved to the back where there was an empty desk.

Once the bell rang, everyone jumped up and ran out of the classroom. Everyone except Neymar, who just sat there frozen looking at a piece of paper.

He scanned his schedule intensely and dreaded going to the next class and receiving hell for his style. All the kids at this school were different. Unlike him, they were materialistic and only cared about what new was in style, who was dating who, and what they did last weekend at the county club. All he cared about was getting good grades so he will be able to join Santos and play football. What he was destined to do. One step at a time though.

He gathered his things in a rush due to the short class exchange period and attempted to rush out of the class. Without looking, he crossed paths with a girl and trying to keep his balance, he slid his foot to the side and bumped into a nearby desk. His upper torso twisted and soon his whole body landed on the ground.

"Oh my god." The girl was now on her knees. "Are you alright?"

Her dark brown curls framed her tanned face and her eyes screamed in concern. He nodded his head and sat up and took a closer look at the broad. Her deep brown eyes softened and seemed to change to a lighter brown, she smiled lightly revealing bright white teeth. "That's good. Neymar, right?" He smiled at her warmly at the fact that she was the first one today that had actually gotten his name right. She held her hand out for me to shake, "Belle, Belle Torres." He gradually took her hand in his and gave it a slight squeeze instead of a shake. "Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, but you can call me Neymar." She began laughing and stood up on her feet, "That's a mouthful isn't it. Well Neymar, what do you have next?" She grabbed his schedule out of his hands without giving him the time to answer her question. "Hey!" Her eyes lit up once again. "We have next period together!"

Relief washed over him at the fact of a familiar face in his next class and made his feeling of dread dissolve slightly. "Lets go before we are late!" She jumped to her feet and adjusted her book bag on her shoulders. Her eyes darted back and forth at the people who glared at her as she walked down the hall with her new friend. Honestly, as shallow as she was, she normally wouldn't even give someone like Neymar the time of day, but it felt right. Something had to change.

A tingle buzzed through his heart with the site of Belle next to him. Not because she was beautiful, but now he had a friend, or at least that's what he thinks she is.

*Present day*

Belle's eyes stung as her brother showed her the pictures of the car accident that could have risked her life. It was as if she had been sleeping this whole time and was dreaming a nightmare. She was now in the comfort of her own home instead of the drab hospital. "This couldn't have happened.." Her hands flew towards her head and ran her fingers across her scar. The roughness of the part of her head where the metal plate lay sent an unpleasant buzz down her arm.

"I'm sorry, I wish I was lieing." He breathed inside her hair as she was being cradled in his arms. "Was I driving?"

He seemed to hesitate before speaking, "Yes. You were drunk."

Declain pursed his lips once the lie escaped from his mouth. She couldn't knew Neymar was the cause of her injury and if it were up to him,he'd make sure she would never come in contact with Neymar. Why? Personally, he disliked him quite a bit. He would often find Belle sneaking out late at night to go hang out. Many times she would even come home with the police. He was truly a terrible influence on her and he was glad that she didn't remember him. Neymar was bound to show up sometime. Declain knew his feelings he has had towards her and he would be determined to get her to remember him again. Although, feelings or not, after the talk they shared a few days back, it was obvious that he would rather leave her be than to see her again.

A knock from the door tore him out of his thoughts. "Come in?" He spoke in question as to who could be at the door at this late of an hour. She gave him a questioning look and squeezed herself deeper in the sofa. As he got up, he tried to be quiet so his parents wouldn't wake up and realize that Belle is still awake at 10:30. They already got on to her and have been nagging to her that she needed her rest.

The door opened once he unlocked it and a familiar man walked in. "What are you doing here?!" Declain growled, seeming to leave Neymar unphaised. He looked straight passed Declain and looked towards Belle's direction. His face instantly inflamed once her big brown eyes met with his.

Belle looked up at the strange man and questioned why he was in her house. His eyes stared glossy and longing and stood in front. "Hello." She spoke quietly and afraid.

"Belle.." he breathed, "Do you know who I am?"
