Because people nowadays don't easily believe things and would rather assume one had gone all bonkers, Alice decided to just keep all of it to herself. She wouldn't tell anyone, if she ever did have anyone to tell, in the first place. All she had was her family and her coworkers. Who, by the way, didn't care about her that much.
It currently was Alice's day off and she spent all of it reading. It was unusual, odd even, because she always spend her day off outdoors, going on nerve-wracking adventures and visiting surreal places. She badly just wanted to momentarily forget everything and slip through another world, a perfect one.
She flipped the last page of the book and then finally closed it. She had nothing to do now, because there were no more books to sink in to.
She quietly then stood up, took a peek at her wall clock and proceeded to go eat her dinner.Alice had this strange feeling, though. It was like there was someone lurking in the dark, watching her intently. She felt another person's presence.
The spook has already made its way to Alice's limit. She couldn't take it all anymore, and just followed the urge to call someone. She hurriedly punched Allison's number to her phone, while furiously pacing back and forth. The third ring came and so did her thirteen-year-old sister's small voice.
After 5 whole minutes of blackmailing and convincing, her sister finally agreed to follow Alice's favor, that is to stay under the same roof with her for three days.
A few minutes have passed and a knock suddenly came to her door. She skipped her way towards the door and opened it, assuming it was her sister.
She didn't expect the one who'd appear would be a large guy. With a lot of tattoos and piercings, wearing an orange jumpsuit, grinning wickedly. She unintentionally had just made a step closer to her own grave.
