Care

They don't care until you die.
Fake, grieving mothers, who care so much, but don't shed a tear. "She seemed kind of sad lately...if only I would've asked if she was okay."
Family members gather around.
"It's not your fault. No one knew. No one could tell. They should've, I wish they would've, said something."
The blame is averted to the dead teenager who couldn't stand it any longer. But maybe....just maybe, if you see someone who is sad, no matter their race, personality, or how they've treated you before, if we would ask if they're okay. If we would ask what's wrong. If we would only care, maybe there would be one less kid in a casket tomorrow. Maybe some people would be alive.
