tyler couldn't keep his thoughts from drifting to the stranger who's number was carved into the tree. he thought deleting the number would let him go back to keeping his issues to himself and forget about how the boy actually seemed to care, but since doing so he is wanting to speak with him more and more.

it's 4:15 am and he was laying in bed trying to think about anything other than the overwhelming urge he had to call the stranger. he may or may not have taken a different route home from the shop today so he could walk through the park and retrieve the number again. he noticed a name next to the number the he must have missed before and when he typed the number into his phone for the second time he added josh to the contact details

"god i'm pathetic" he thought, this guy didn't even want to talk to me in the first place i just barged into his life he's probably glad i'm not calling anymore"

what if I called and accually talked to him though maybe he could be a friend. "friend tyler really? blurry cut in, there's a reason everyone hates you, your pathetic, scared of your own mind! people don't want to deal with insane people like you in their life.

tyler agreed with the voice in his head, he didn't want a fight tonight and it was true after all. he set his phone on his bedside table and sank back into bed falling asleep surprising quick.

he woke later that night covered in a layer of sweat and shaking slightly. he called the number quickly not giving blurry a chance to talk him out of it.
"hello" the familiar voice spoke

you can't just call a stranger and tell them you wanted to hear their voice to help you calm down from a nightmare tyler are you crazy??
"hel-" josh spoke again but got cut off by tyler muttering a quick sorry and hanging up.

tyler groaned falling back into his bed. The usual "your pathetic/annoying/a burden thoughts started filling his mind but got drowned out by the buzz of his phone. im getting a call?? must be calling the wrong number who the hell would be calling me, tyler thought picking up his phone about to deny the call. but the name that flashed across the screen made him freeze in his position. he stared at the screen for several seconds to make sure that he wasn't making it up but sure enough the number was calling him back. when the phone stopped ringing he let out a breath he didn't realise he was holding. "i forgot to block my stupid number after I called it again" he sighed letting his head fall into his hands.

he put his phone on silent and watched the screen as the number repeatedly called. after a while the calls stopped and a text message appeared.
