to josh; "so what do you want to talk about?"

tyler was nervous. it's been a while since people actually wanted to talk to him. part of him felt horrible because maybe josh was only talking to him because he felt bad or pitied him but another part was hopeful that he might not scare him away and they could maybe even become friends?? he really didn't want to mess this up but he had blurry in his head telling him he was going to say the wrong things.

from josh; "idk :-) what are you up to?"

to josh; "i'm currently lying in bed wishing i didn't exist because I start school on monday. you?"

from josh; "same bro i feel your pain school totally sucks"

josh hadn't said anything about all the times he called him sobbing into the phone and tyler was grateful for that. he enjoyed having a conversation that wasn't about if he was getting enough sleep or taking his meditation.

from josh; "what's your name btw i need to create your contact"

tyler got worried. what if this guy knew him or something? that would be really embarrassing.

to josh; uh just put my contact name as tyjo"

"hes really gonna think im weird now" tyler thought. even if he did somehow know me it wouldn't be to hard to figure that tyjo stands for tyler joseph.

from josh; "alright tyjo :-)"

from josh; " im josh btw!"

to josh; "i know"

shit shit shit why did I tell him that.
tyler quickly typed his next message feeling extremely embarrassed.

to josh; "oh god that sounded creepy! i know your name because i saw your number carved into a tree and your name was above it"

from josh; "so I don't have a secret admirer who's had my number in their phone for months and finally plucked up the courage to talk to me?? damn i really though this was going to end up like one of those sappy cliche movies"

to josh; "unfortunately not! sorry to disappoint but I'm just friendless loser in need of someone to talk to. is that romantic enough or am i going to have to go around searching for another number carved into a tree?"

from josh; "lucky for you, you seem pretty cool so I shall give you the privilege to continue talking to the most amazing human being you will ever meet (aka me). you can't call yourself a friendless loser anymore though, your just a loser now :/"

tyler didn't believe this was real. he had actually managed to have a proper conversation with someone and josh considers him as a friend. a genuine smile spread across his face and he got lost in a moment of happiness. he hasn't had one of those in a while.
they continued texting for another while until remembering it was like 4 four in the morning and saying goodnight to each other.

tyler liked feeling happy. blurry was trying to take over his thoughts but tyler wouldn't let him tonight, he was focusing on how he managed to function like a normal human being and make a friend. as much as blurry tried to make him think he was useless, he was proud of himself.
