I woke up the next morning and took a shower. I put on some of my new clothes. Denim jeans, a black over sized sweater that had I woke up like this written in white. Then, I put on my new sandals. I brushed my teeth, curled my hair, and walked downstairs. Mom and Dad were sitting at the table with Royalty, eating Lucky Charms. I grabbed a banana and pilled it. "You ready to see the rest of your family?" My dad asked. "Mhm. I can't wait!" I said, finishing up my banana and throwing the pill in trashcan. "Will I get to meet Ariana?" I asked. "Not yet. She's on tour, but when she gets back, she'll want to see you." My mom answered. I nodded. They finished up their cereal, mom grabbed her casserole, and we got into the limo. "So, are there any boys in your life that I need to know about?" My dad asked. "No. Well, there's this one boy. His name is Kolby. We like each other, but my adoptive parents wouldn't let me date him because they don't believe in a white person and a black person dating." I explained. "Here, you can date whoever you want." He said, making me smile. We arrived at the building my dad rented for a get together. We got out and my dad invited the limo driver to join us. He accepted, so he parked the limo and everyone got out. I grabbed Royalty's hand so mom could take the casserole in. We got into the building and mom put the casserole on the table. It smelt so good. It didn't take long for the first person to arrive. It was an elderly woman. "Hi Maddy, I'm your mother's mother. Your grandma. Call me Nona." She said, sitting a bowl of meatballs on the table. "Hi." I said. Another woman came in. I recognized her. "It's nice to meet you. You must be Maddy. I'm your mom's sister. I'm your Aunt Joan. I have a daughter, but she's on tour. She should be back anyday now." The lady said. I smiled at her. "Ariana." I said. She nodded and smiled at me. When everyone arrived, I had met all of my mom's side of the family except Ariana and all of my dad's. The table was covered with food. I was playing with Royalty when my mom and dad got up in front of everyone. It got quiet. "Wassup everyone. I'm glad to be saying that our daughter is back with us. You've all heard us talk about her, but now, I want her to come say a few words." My dad said. Mom grabbed Royalty from me and I got up in front of my family. "Hi everyone. I'm Madison, but I go by Maddy. I've lived my life thinking that I was living a normal life. I'm a cheerleader and I'm going to high school this upcoming year. I guess what I'm trying to say is.. I'm fourteen and I just found out I was adopted." At this moment, tears were falling down my face. "This is who I was suppose to be all along. This is who I am now and I'm not leaving. I've always been a really big fan of Ariana Grande and she was my cousin all along. Now... You guys were always my family and I'm not leaving.. I'm not going back to my old life..." I said. There was a moment of silence, but I interrupted it. "Now, let's eat." I said, smiling. We all grabbed a paper plate and piled it with food. I sat by my parents and ate. After I finished, I threw my plate away and started talking to members of my family. When everyone was gone, I helped my parents clean up. Then, we left. I noticed that my light on my phone was blinking, signaling that I had a text. I turned my phone on and my heart dropped, but it the good way.

Ariana: Hey baby cuz. I can't wait to see you!

I smiled and sent her a quick text back.

MaddyWasHere: Omg! Hey! I can't believe you're my cousin. I'm a huge fan!

Ariana: Awe. Well I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow!

We got into the limo and the driver drove us home. When we got home, I walked upstairs to my room, took a shower and put on some pajamas. Then, I got another text.

???: Hey beautiful.
