Adam's P.O.V
I ran outside and watched hopelessly as Arik crumpled to the ground before rounding on my uncle, "What's your problem?" I growled at him as I stood over Arik protectively.
"I didn't know he was a sensitive." Cade said as he stared down at Arik for a second before taking a deep breath and moving away.
"He's not a sensitive." I stated looking down at Arik who was curled in on himself like he was trying to get away from the sensations that coursed through him.
"Then that's a very good imitation of sensory overload." Cade said pointing at Arik whose back bowed and let out a scream that morphed into a howl as he exploded into his wolf.
I toppled over onto my side as Arik writhed on the ground. His paws digging into the ground as he convulsed and then lay still but for his steady breathing. "Shit." I whispered staring at my mate in awe.
"You should bring him inside. He needs the familiar." Cade said and stepped towards the woods.
"Whoa! Wait a second! What the fuck did you do to him?!" I raged as I pointed at my comatose looking mate.
"I didn't do anything whelp!" Cade exploded looking over at Arik, "He's the one with the highly sensitive gift that hasn't even been trained." With that he stomped into the woods muttering under his breath and kicking over a boulder as he disappeared into the shadows.
I looked down at Arik and started panicking. Why wasn't he turning back? I knelt down and ran a hand over his fur before picking him up in my arms and running inside.

Nearly 24 hours have passed since Arik collapsed in the yard. He hasn't shifted forms and just laid there. I groaned and put my face in my hands, I just want my mate to wake up.
"And here I was thinking Cade was lying." Meredith said from where she stood just inside the room, "Reminds me a bit of Colton." She said thoughtfully as she walked around the bed examining Arik from every angle.
I was confused. Hell most everybody was confused after spending two seconds with Meredith. She talked in so many riddles and when she sounded coherent it was mainly to run off and kill someone. Still, why bring up an uncle I hadn't seen in years?
"He should be here by now." Meredith whispered as the door slammed open downstairs.
"He sure has some timing." I commented as the heavy footsteps of my uncle got closer to the room. Meredith shrugged indifferently and continue to study Arik's face intently.
My uncle walked in and I couldn't help but stare at him. He had changed a lot since I had last seen him. He's at least three inches taller than Arik. His blue eyes flashed with recognition as he took in Arik's appearance.
"So what's this I hear about a sensory overload?" Colton asked as he took in his great-grandmother and I standing around the bed, "You could be putting your mate through some heavy and debilitating pain I'm only going to ask once. Can you step away from the bed?" Colton stared at me and must've noticed the barely restrained fury, "I'm sorry Adam but you need to step back."
I was breathing heavily, my wolf fighting for control. He expected me to step away from my mate! I couldn't do that. Even if I tried.
"Adam," Meredith said quietly making me look over at her. Our eyes locked and she uttered one word, "Submit."
I crumbled to the ground on my knees and bared my neck to her. This was what I hated the most, a forced submission. It hurt like hell being made to submit. Your wolf fights the entire time in the hold. I've heard of Meredith killing a few rogues in just this manner.
Except they fought the entire time. Some even shifted mid-submission in hopes of being able to get away. But they never do. I knew better than to try and fight this. I looked over at my mate who was now in human form and whined low in my chest.
"He'll be fine Adam. Colton won't let anything happen to him." Meredith said to me in a calm tone and she stared over at Arik.

Arik's P.O.V
Pain. All I can feel is pain. It's like a fire coursing through my veins.
But just as suddenly as it starts it goes away and a voice is telling me to ignore the sensations.
"They're not yours to feel." the voice whispered through my head and I became confused.
'Not mine.'
"Find your mates." The voice whispered to me and I could feel myself frown.
Then all I could feel was worry, anxiousness and a sense of feeling lost.
'Adam.' I whispered softly and opened my eyes. I nearly screamed when I opened my eyes and I was staring into a pair of piercing blue eyes.
