Chapter 3

Adams P.O.V

'I held my mate in my arms.' I thought to myself and looked up to see Arik. Yeah he was a couple of inches taller than me but so what! Goddess he's so sexy! I thought to myself as I looked him over. His dark hair just made me want to run my hands through it just to see if was as soft as it looked. His mismatched eyes sent shudders through me. His right eye an eery gray-gold color and his left a jade green.

I took a step back and watched him as he stood to his full 6 foot 4 inches. I opened my mouth to repeat my words when he held his left hand up, "I heard you. Are- are you okay with that?" He stuttered and I couldn't help but smile. Did he really think I could reject him? He's my mate!

"I'm fine with it." I said and before he could step towards me and wrap me up in his arms I took a step back and watched hurt flicker across his eyes, "But I am mad at how you talked to me yesterday!" I said and shoved him away from me when he took a step forward.

"I know you're mad at me. I'm mad at me too." He whispered making me narrow my eyes at him.

Ohh whoop de freaking doo! He felt bad for telling me to get out of his room, "I don't care! It still hurt to have you talk to me like that. Not only that but you've been avoiding everybody for the past couple of days and that's fucked up. We're your family!" I yelled at him and watched him flinch back.

"Hey is dinner ready?" Cameron said as he walked into the kitchen.

I growled at him before grabbing Ariks hand and dragging him out of the kitchen and into my room, "You know Keeley told me that I sucked yesterday! I didn't even know what she was talking about! Now I know." I sighed and turned to look out the windows.

"You know even before I knew you were my mate I'd had a crush on you." Arik said softly making me look over at him. He was staring at his hands like they held the answers to everything, "Every single damn time Keeley set me up on a date I always hoped it was you." He looked over at me then, "Do you want to know what sucked the most?" He asked me his eyes looking past my shoulder.

"Yeah." I whispered reluctantly wanting to know.

"Every time you showed up at my house with some skank clinging to your arm I..." Arik began before he cut himself off and turned around. He was about to yank the door open but I slammed it closed before he could.

"Finish what you were going to say." I demanded with a growl.

He growled at me and began to try to shove me out of the way. I don't know how he'd managed to hide them for so long but my eyes zeroed in on them. Scars that were barely visible cut across his wrists. I grabbed hold of one of his hands and turned it over to look at them more closely.

There weren't many scars but I would bet anything that there had been more and these were just the deepest cuts he'd made. Even with his fast healing these hadn't faded at all, "What are these from?" I asked him softly.

He looked down at them and paled a bit before tracing one of them, "This ones from when you first kissed a girl in front of me. I was going to tell you that day how I felt about you but there was a change of plans when you showed up at my house with Jenny." He said with a growl, "This ones from when you told me you'd had sex with Jenny." With that he pushed me away from him.

I remember that day. It was the day I'd lost my virginity. I'd been so stocked and had to tell someone. I'd seen Arik and figured why not him, "I'm sorry." I whispered.

"You know what! It's alright. I knew I didn't have a chance with you but my wolf kept making me hold out hope." He said and looked at me, "Sometimes I just wanted to end it all but my wolf would always stop me." He said and before I could stop him he had flung open the door and began to stalk out.

Faster than I've ever moved before I grabbed hold of his arm and swung him around, "Jenny is in my past, Arik. You're my future." I said and stroked a hand down his cheek.

"I know that!" He snarled at me, "It just frustrates me to know that I'm the only virgin in this damn dorm." He said making me frown and blink at him in shock.

Hold up! The great Arik James was still a virgin! There's just no freaking way! I had seen him with some many girls walking around campus, "Wait, you're still a virgin? Like all the way around?"

Arik nodded and I almost laughed until I realized why, "You really take what your mom and dad say into consideration." I said and he shrugged.

"Sometimes but this was mines and my wolfs choice. He only wanted his mate and I understood. Ask your wolf how he feels knowing that you gave your virginity away to someone who wasn't your mate?" He said and before I could do just that he pressed a soft kiss to my lips. When I went to deepen it he pulled away from me.

His eyes were fluctuating from their normal colors to silver, "Ask your wolf then come and find me." He said and stalked off down the hall.

I cringed when I heard his door slam closed. 'I told you not to get involved with Jenny.' My wolf said with a growl, 'I told you our mate would be watching us but did you listen? No you didn't.'

My wolf chastised me the entire hour I spent in my room. He yelled at me for hurting Arik, he yelled at me for being stupid. Oh and he also yelled at me for not realizing Arik had feelings for me even before his 16th birthday.

I was laying in bed when Ariana walked past my open door. I watched as she backtracked and stuck her head in my room, "Hey guess what? Alpha James is on his way with Luna Claire." She said and continued on down the hall.

"Hey! Wait! Why are they coming?" I yelled as I scrambled off of my bed to run after her.

Ariana started giggling as I chased her around the dorm, "Something about passing on the titles." She squealed when I had her pinned to the floor.

"Oh." I said and pulled away from her. I hadn't thought of that. Obviously I wasn't alpha because that was Arik, "Woah wait a second! Am I expected to be Luna?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Yup and I'm your Beta." She said and began to laugh evilly.

Oh god! My sister is my Beta, "Who's Keeley's Beta?" I asked her and her smile became wider. Yeah she was definitely starting to freak me out.

"I'm yours and Keeley's. Blake is Cameron's and Arik's." She said with a mischievous grin.

"Oh that's just great." I said and scrambled off of her when I heard laughter from the end of the hall.

I ran towards the living room where the laughter was coming from and saw Arik and Keeley sitting on one of the couches with Alpha James and Luna Claire sitting across from them, "Alpha James! Luna Claire!" I exclaimed and watched as Luna Claire stood and embraced me in a tight hug.

"Welcome to the family." She whispered in my ear before releasing me and looking over my shoulder, "You three should join us. We have lots to discuss." She said and resettled herself on the couch next to her mate.

I looked over at Arik and noticed him staring at me. My wolf lunged forward making me stumble a couple of steps forward before I almost face planted. I steadied myself an walked towards him. When I reached him, he grabbed my arm and pulled me down into his lap.

I have no idea what came over me but my face automatically cuddled into the side of his neck. I rubbed my nose across his collarbone inhaling his scent. I shuddered against him barely paying attention to what the Alpha and Luna were saying.

To be honest I didn't care what they were saying. I was with my mate and nothing could make this better.

[authors note] yayy another upload! I think I like writing in Ariks POV. He's more like me except well he's a very hott guy and I'm a very hott chick but that's besides the point. I might do an Adam POV every three or four chapters. Oohh BTW I'm thinking of deleting Luna of the Silver Pack I know sad :( I'd hate to have to do that but maybe once I finish Alpha of the silver pack I'll re-upload Keeley's story if enough people are interested in it!!
