Chapter 6

Arik's P.O.V

Do you ever get that feeling that people are staring but then you look around and in actuality nobody is staring at you? Well that's exactly how I felt. I'd finally managed to get Adam away from my dad and we were all eating and talking. I mean, everyone else was talking I'm just sitting here looking around like a paranoid freak and trying to eat my food.

I looked over at my dad who was laughing along to what his Beta was saying. My eyes traveled over them and over to the people sitting in front of me. I was startled when I saw Gio and Alek sitting there, "What're you guys doing here?" I asked pointing my fork over at them.

Adam jabbed me in my side and frowned, "Did you just notice they were here? Really?" He asked me pointing a spoon at me making me cringe back.

Yeah. I'm scared of spoons. Don't ask why. It was traumatizing enough to live it. I don't want to relive it. Anyways, me backing away made Keeley laugh. I sent a glare her way and she looked down at her food as if it held the answer to life.

"Yeah." I replied with a shrug as Adam moved the spoon away from my face.

I glanced around the table and then down at my plate noticing that I had already finished. Being back here made me feel like crap. I felt like I was literally on autopilot. I started to breathe really fast as my heart beat sped up. I stood up so fast my chair fell to the floor and before anybody could stop me I was running through the kitchen, out the back door.

When I reached the tree line I shifted. It was getting darker and being in wolf form made it easier. I could hear, smell and see better in this form. I had an added advantage when it was dark. I am a black wolf. So dark that in the darkness of the darkest night you would probably only see my eyes. I ran the perimeter of the territory before I started back towards the house.

I had already been gone a couple of hours and by the time I stepped foot into the back yard I had been gone five hours. I shook off the rain from my coat as I walked into the kitchen. Adam was sitting on a stool at the island. I stopped and stared at him. His green eyes that are usually glittering with happiness were red and puffy.

I automatically shifted back and rushed over to him. As soon as my arms were wrapped around him he burst into tears. "Babe what's wrong?" I asked him wanting to know what had upset my mate to the point of tears.

"You ran out and didn't tell me anything. I knew coming back to the pack house was a bad idea." He sobbed into my neck as his arms wrapped tightly around me.

I pushed his hair back away from his face before I pressed a kiss to his lips, "I'm sorry for running out like that earlier." I whispered as I cupped his face in the palms of my hands.

Adam sighed softly and leaned his cheek into my hand as his eyes slid shut from the sparks of electricity. I love my mate with everything I have but being back here where all of my depression started made it hard for me to concentrate. I sighed and pulled Adam close to me loving the sparks that coursed through me. Maybe being near Adam would make those feelings of not being good enough go away.

"You'll always be good enough." Adam whispered softly in my ear earning another sigh from me as I nuzzled his neck.

I distantly heard Adam moan but I wasn't paying attention. My wolf was literally screaming at me to mark him as mine and I was slowly beginning to loose control as his scent wrapped around me making dizzy.

'Just a little bite.' My wolf growled and I could feel the control that I had been working for slip through my fingertips. My wolf shoved forward and my canines extended. One second I'm nuzzling his neck and the next I'm bitting down on the curve of his neck.

My wolf had done the impossible. He had broken through my control and marked our mate without a second thought. Adam sagged against me as the electricity surged in the pack house before every single light bulb in the large mansion blew out one by one announcing the mating of an Alpha. I could distinctly hear the screams of the girls as they were plunged into darkness.

Adam looked up at me and his green eyes were now the light hazel of his wolf. I had barely taken a breath when it rushed out as Adam snaked an arm around my neck and plunged his canines into my neck. Marking me for all the world to see.

So I know this isn't as long as some of my other updates but I felt I had to give you all something especially after all the votes. Even though I'm still struggling with my very annoying writers block I managed to get this out in a couple of hours. If I get enough voted I may just post a naughty scene but remember this is my first bxb so I might just have someone do a one shot and if its good enough I'll put it in the chapter and of course you'll get full credit for the scene AND I'll dedicate the chapter to you.
