I woke up screaming. And to my surprise, the alarms are piercing the air with a very loud noise, that sounds very low. That meant only one thing. A breach. We learned that if there ever was a breach, you grab your nearest weapon, and barricade all entrances to the best of your ability.
When there was a breach, that meant, somehow, something from the outside has dug through the walls and INTO the bunker. This happened often, as spiders tended to get in through the sewers, but this was different....
The spider problems only took a few minutes, because people just called control, and they came and burnt them to a crisp. But this was on for a hour, just a alarm constantly blaring a stupid tone. It pissed us off, so we sorta annihilated the ones in our base. But we could still hear them in the hall. We waited for another hour, but nothing happened. So we just decided to watch TV, but the thing was on the fritz.
After a debate, we went to the armory, and decided to explore, and see what was wrong. We put on our gear, and grabbed our BB guns. We opened the gate, and braced ourselves for a ginormous spider.
We walked the halls, finding all halls and rooms empty. We went to my room complex, only to find that my family gone. Strange. Getting worried, we started jogging to Jimmy's room complex.
"Something isn't right." I say.
"That's putting it lightly, I hope we are wrong."
We turn a few more corners, and then we start to hear yelling. We keep jogging, and the closer we get to Jimmy's complex, the louder the yelling gets. Eventually, we stumble upon Jimmy's complex.
"Ladies first!" I say.
"How can you have any humor right now!?" Jimmy whispers.
We enter the complex, and run right into his dad in the living room, screaming at a alarm.
"Um, dad?"
"Uh, yes son?"
"What are you yelling at?"
"This stupid alarm."
"Where is everyone?"
"Well, a pipe exploded, and it classifies as a breach, so, our stupid council is searching the whole bunker for other problems before fixing it. They could've at least turned these off."
His dad says. His voice rising. He's clearly annoyed, and/or pissed. Stupidly, I try to brighten the mood, with a joke.
"Hey, our TVs is on the fritz again too.Wanna go yell at it? Maybe you could insult it's mother or something."
His dad shoots me a stare. And Jimmy is struggling to contain his laughter.
We both leave, with a grin on our faces. When we turn a corner, we look back at the complex, then look at each other. And we burst out laughing. We were laughing so hard, our eyes filled with tears. We couldn't breath either. After about 10 minutes, we stopped laughing. Still grinning, and Jimmy calls me a retard.
"Eh, had to try." I say.
"That's why we're friends."
We keep walking, not saying a single word. After 5 minutes, I ask him if he wants to check out the pipe problem.
"Well, our teacher keeps freaking out that we don't stay caught up with current events, but I wanna stop by the base, drop off the gear."
"Ok then."
We got to the base after about another 5 or so minutes. And we find trash all over the gate.
"Ah man! Those stupid little kids did this!" Jimmy yells in anger.
We were cleaning up the mess, when we realized that the stuff wasn't trash. It was equipment. Then it clicked. The Council once said that they must be able to store stuff in there, if we owned it. We obviously said yes. That's why there was gear in there.
We grabbed the gear, and stored it away. Jimmy went to fix the TV. And I dug through the junk. And I picked out a lot of stuff I wanted. Most of it was outdated, but I mean, if it's cool to me, then it didn't matter. I packed a bag full of the stuff I wanted.
When I was done, and Jimmy couldn't work with the TV, we left, to check on the pipes.
As soon as we left, an explosion went off 10 feet in front of us. It blew us off our feet. It was if someone picked up your legs, and slammed your entire body against the ground. It knocked the wind out of both of us.
When we looked up, the ceiling was falling apart, there was a fire everywhere, and creatures from the outside started seeping into the bunker.
