A/n This chapter will change POVs a bit.

Viara POV

As Ariel and I were playing in the water, I felt a strong rush of power come onto me. Like the time I discovered about my powers. I'm pretty sure that I was the only one who practiced using their powers. Yesterday after I got back from detention, I rushed into my room. I fished out my iPad and turned on my favorite show, Avatar the Last Airbender. I watched as Katara waved her hands back and forth, controlling the water. I brought a cup full of water in from my bathroom and followed Katara's hand movements. By dinnertime, I could create a small wave.

"Vi! Vi! please can we please go parasailing. Please!" Ariel's pleading shook me out of the fog I was in.

"Ari, I really like swimming. You can go if you want too. Don't stop yourself from doing something fun, just because I don't want to." I said. "Heck I'll swim behind you."

"Ok. I'll go. But don't swim behind me. Although it would be fun to see you flail helplessly in the ocean as I fly in the air."

"Flail helplessly? Girl I'm feeling power right now, the kind of power that gives me strength to prove you wrong!"

Ariel smiled and ran to the para-sail guy. I waded behind her. I reached her just as she took off. I waited for a minute then dived in the water and followed right under her. As I swam in the water, The adrenaline kicked in and I managed to stay right under Ari. As I surfaced, I started taunting her, saying stuff like "I couldn't keep up huh?" and "Speed up Ari! Your falling behind." Her response was smiling and sticking her tongue out at me. Suddenly, I was pulled under. I opened my mouth to scream, instead I swallowed gallons of water. I was never forced underwater, but it shouldn't feel calm and peaceful. Every time I breathed in water, it felt normal. I looked around for the idiot who shoved me underwater. He or she is going to get it! I saw a person swim nearby. I was about to swim after him/her when I heard someone scream. Ariel.

Ariel POV

When Viara popped out of the water right under me, I wasn't surprised. I know what you guys are thinking, "you're on a para sail going at least 5 miles per hour, you happen to look down and see your bestie in the water, going faster than you, waving!" After what happened yesterday, I can not be surprised at anything. You could tell me that a unicorn just enrolled in my high school and I'll be like "Cool. What is it's name?"

Anyways, when Viara dove under, I gazed into the sky. Air was whipping my ponytails around, seagulls were cawing, and adrenaline was flowing through my veins. When Viara said she had an adrenaline rush, I laughed at the time, but now I know what she meant. I feel like I could fly! I started humming a random song. After a while, I heard a snap, the rope broke! I let out a scream, then stopped once I remembered yesterday and huffed and puffed and controlled the wind so I could stay in the air. "Ariel! Girl are you OK ?!" Viara screamed. "I'm fine" I replied. "Just powered up. Like you did." She pretended to be offended and started laughing . " The rope just snapped but you know I just started blowing my little heart out."

Viara just rolled her eyes and yelled "Well keep yourself in the air because your going to travel at the speed of light." She grabbed the rope and started swimming faster than humanly possible.

Elisa's POV

After I yelled at Ariel, I started hiking up to the rocky part of the beach. Half way to the rocks, I ran into Nina. " Nina, what wrong? You look steamed..... literally." She rolled her eyes and said "Viara just got on my nerves, that's all. You look like you're in a bad mood too. Ariel hates you now?"

"Yea. But I'm fine, all she did was yell random insults. After a while I got fed up and stormed away." I replied.

"So she insulted your butt off and you ran away" Nina smirked and chuckled.

"I'm gonna go to the rocks, hiking always relaxes me." With that I ran off. When I got to the rocks, I felt a surge of energy rush through me. I picked up a rock and crushed it. I had no idea how that happened. When I picked it up, I felt the structure of it, it was not just a rock. It was complex stack of earth that I could control.

Wow that sounded like smart mumbo jumbo.  Elisa Stone does not do smart. I prefer to leave that junk for Nina and Ariel. Nerdy-ness suits them much better then it does me. I guess being connected to earth, I know everything I need to know about the earth. I smiled and started playing with all the rocks I could find.
The only time I felt out of place was when someone threw a boulder at me. I avoided it but I lost my balance and tumbled down the rocks, most likely cutting myself in different places. Before I got out of reach, I managed to throw a pebble at them. When I reached back up the hill, I played detective and started poking around the place where the rock came from.

Nina POV
When Elisa ran off, I smiled. She just wanted to be alone and cool off. I on the other hand, laid down on the hot sand and pulled out a book. When the rays of the sun hit my face, I was filled a strange warm heat. It fueled me, all my senses were sharpened. It was being around fire, my element. Oh my God! I just realized something! If my powers strengthen around my element, then it must be the same for the others. And the elements also have opposites, that's why Viara and I hate each other all of a sudden. Now that I think about it, I always had a small grudge against Viara, I just directed it to Ariel because it made more sense. It must be the same for Elisa too. She felt hatred against Ariel all this time, that is why they stopped being friends, it is also why Elisa directed her anger at Viara. Because after Elisa and Ariel stopped talking, Ariel became closer to Viara. It all makes sense, I have to tell the others.
